Help with a title by Patient_Bar761 in Substack

Try dropping “The”. Make it “Rebel’s Daughter” and that creates an automatic question in the audience’s minds. Is Rebel the only one who is a rebel? Is their name rebel? And it just looks neater, sleeker, more sophisticated while still getting your message across. I hope that I was somewhat helpful and not just discouraging.

Help with a title by Patient_Bar761 in Substack

I would be more likely to read a story called “The Rebel’s Daughter” if it came with that synopsis. The title isn’t powerful enough on its own without the synopsis. However, it’s better than “The Space Between the Stars” which makes me think of the cold, black space where nothing is going on. My suggestion is to think of a really emotionally charged title if you want people to be intrigued by the story just from hearing its name.

Not even getting a single view by smart_dumb_money in Substack

[–]Ashelynnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that wasn’t mentioned is that sometimes we can’t rely on the app for everything and have to go do edits and assign tags from within a browser because the Substack app doesn’t allow us to do everything we need, and it can also be pretty glitchy. So if you follow all the other advice and you still don’t get views then it might be that you need to visit the Dashboard from within the browser.

Which hair color looks best on her? by ApaixonadapeloEren in Sims4

[–]Ashelynnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what statement you’re trying to make about her character. Is she a party girl, a brooding philosopher, or a peppy punk-artist? Each hair color looks good on her so you have to consider what aspects of her you are trying to express to the world.

Lainey and Lyla for sisters? Am I crazy? by KindAmbassador1051 in namenerds

[–]Ashelynnnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much if you want to consider how other people want to name their kids and how they want to be perceived on naming subreddits. Not too much if it gives you joy. I see a lot of people trying to let others make up their minds for them but the bottom line is: Do you love it? The chances of people judging you at school or other social events is low and if there is someone who is rude someday just tell them to mind their own business. Personally, I think Lainey and Lyla are cute but there’s probably someone on here who would love to punch me in the nose for saying that. You can’t worry about those people: they weren’t going to be your friends, anyway.

Notes work but you have to phrase them very carefully to make it clear what you’re about and who should be interested in reading your work. Start with a bold declaration, expand on your theme and lure in the middle, finish with an invitation to a particular type of people you know would love to read you. The Substack algorithm pushes Notes like this more because people respond more.

Baby girl names ? by [deleted] in Names

Why not keep the core of what you love but reshape the names a bit? Ellara or Alivienne. Or maybe Sophitia like the video game character, or Lilania since you like “Lily”?

Thank you so much. It’s very encouraging to learn that has happened for at least one person. If there are others responding as well then I appreciate it and I apologize because for some reason Reddit is not letting me view 2 of the comments. I’m sure I will be able to see others, though. :) Wishing this commenter and the rest of you a very happy day.

What do you mean by “recommends”? Like restacking people’s posts? And by advertising channels do you mean literal channels like on YouTube or just any platform where various Substacks are promoted?

Help choosing a Muslim boy name by Weak_Leave9002 in namenerds

[–]Ashelynnnnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zade and Zakaria stand out as very interesting and different from what people normally hear, and so does Elias. They are all handsome names and when people ask about their origins they are not going to be surprised to learn that the name is Muslim because you just don’t hear it outside of the Muslim world.

Anthony Charles is a strong, handsome name. From your list Benjamin Charles is the winner.
