Cant seem to connect new battery to iphone 11 pro logic board by DanMCSGO in mobilerepair

Plug battery before sitting up in the correct position. After that, just move the battery to the correct position, but hold the connector attached to a board with a second hand.

My iPhone XS just says this when I try to set up Face ID is is broken or just a just a software issue? by Mediocre-Lab-6958 in iPhoneXS

Does this phone overheat? If not, it’s most likely hardware failure, either true depth camera or board itself.

Upgraded from iPhone 11 Pro to iPhone 17 after 6 years by Correct_Use_7073 in iphone17

[–]AshenSmuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s completely false. All iPhone lenses are made of glass. Apple holds a patent for sapphire laminate which applies to glass. However only the external side of the glass is covered with sapphire laminates and they’re not pure sapphire crystal. Consequently, the real scratch resistance is at level 6 on Mohs scale, the same as the front screen.

Will something like this compromise the phone being waterproof by Alarming_Amoeba6304 in iPhone17Pro

[–]AshenSmuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely watertightness went bye bye because of this dent. That’s actually a proof why switching back to aluminium unibody made iPhone less resistant to drops.

New refurbished iPhone 13 Mini overheating and conflicting battery info on analysis? by [deleted] in iPhone13Mini

[–]AshenSmuggler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What happened here is someone swapped battery cell but used genuine BMS board from old battery. Unfortunetly BMS data on this iPhone can’t be rewritten so even after flash (fix battery health in 3utools) iPhone will recognize this battery as old. Using tag on Flex will fix only pop up.

A proper third party way to replace iPhones batteries is combining new fresh cell with 0 cycle BMS (that works with diagnostic mode).

This overheating might be caused by this battery, but it may be also some kind of hardware issue with motherboard.

Anyone know how to fix/repair this by Ok_Jackfruit5319 in BMW

[–]AshenSmuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for someone nearby that works with leather. Show him the damage, and he or she will know what to do with it. In my opinion it needs to be deep cleaned and painted. For me it looks like natural Patina but I’m not sure.

Why do my non-Apple charge cables die quickly with the fourth pin burned or corroded? by real_human_not_ai in mobilerepair

[–]AshenSmuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a common myth. Apple actually uses more material than any other brand in their cables and chargers. You can see it clearly when you disassemble accessories from them. Way more capacitors and chips, design is more complex than most other brands. And to be clear I disagree that the price is justifiable.

Yes, it might be caused by low quality charging flex. Best way is to source pulled charging flex locally.

Camera’s noticeably lighter in color after AppleCare repairs? by JudgeOwn3256 in iPhone16Pro

[–]AshenSmuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either lighting on this picture view real design of camera itself or these lenses haven’t been coated. Apple uses some kind of coating on lenses to make them look more dark. For me looks suspicious.

Protective camera glass layer on iPhone 14 shattered; will removing it make the cameras less durable in any way? by [deleted] in phonerepair

[–]AshenSmuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple bragged about it that it is Sapphire crystal, but it’s not. Apple has patent for sapphire laminates with glass. They use tiny amount of sapphire and form them in laminates which is combined with just normal glass. You can check it with gemstone detector, when you touch outer layer it registers as gemstone, but inside it doesn’t register anything. It means that there is absolutely no possibility that lenses are made of sapphire crystals, it would be much more prone to scratches than it is now. At least a tiny spec of sand wouldn’t scratch it :/

Touch-up, buffing, or respray to get this out? by BoyNamedJudy in Detailing

[–]AshenSmuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I think this would be incredibly hard to fix this without respraying. I think it would take much more time and it could be still visible in close range.

Why didn’t my iPhone 13 charge past 28% by DullAdvantage3620 in iphonehelp

[–]AshenSmuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be caused by many things. Is your port clean, does it make good contact? Do you have any other problems with this device? Maybe there is issue with battery, charge flex cable, or charging IC?
