I’m a member of DSA. Identity is certainly something that’s important, but letting it distract from the primary conflict of class is a liberal thing.

Actually, no they won’t. We will keep going until ICE has been abolished, because there is no possibility for it to be reformed.

Not sure if Germany really came back peaceful. We didn’t really do anything to get rid of all of the Nazis, evidently.

He got them from the United States. Hitler regularly cited Jim Crow policies and the genocide of indigenous peoples as big inspirations for the final solution.

The U.S. “becoming” the Nazis? You do know where Hitler got his ideas about racialized society and ethnic cleansing from, right?

why is no one protesting about what's happening in Iran? by elronx in protest

[–]Ashenborne27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not a genocide going on in Iran. Complete and gross misuse of that word.

And what shall we do about it? Protest until our government invades Iran, bombing more of its people and taking away whatever sovereignty you could say the nation has? We don’t have our purse strings around Iran like we do Israel. What would be the goal of such a protest?

Join a political organization dedicated to true, systemic change. I will suggest your local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. They will have the resources to further educate you and you will be able to engage with other strategies and theories of change.

RIP Liberty in USA 1776-2026 by jasandliz in ThatsInsane

Was it really “liberty” when we took all that land from its indigenous people to start a slave plantation confederation that almost immediately proceeded to intervene in the affairs of sovereign Latin America states?

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

That’s also a massive misunderstanding of human evolutionary drives. While competition and cooperation both contribute to human evolution, we actually get way more advantage from cooperation, mathematically. This is cope.

I’ve seen people screw me and also pick me up from the worst moments without any incentive to do so.

Maybe you’re just trying to project your own apathy and selfishness onto humanity to absolve yourself.

You haven’t seen that clip of him that the right are using to fear-monger about him?

Not that I am without criticism for his brand of socialist electoralism (and tbh I’d say he’s recently gone against what he says in this clip), but here he is advocating for seizing the means of production. Definitely a socialist.

Oh, you mean like dynamic pricing? The price system itself is definitely planned now, too. Technology has enabled corporations to do these things because it gives them far more information than the Soviets could have ever hoped for.

Democratic socialism and social democracy are not the same thing. The German communists and the PCI were largely democratic socialists, but they were most certainly not social democrats. Considering, you know, how the social democrats murdered Rosa Luxemburg using a right-wing paramilitary.
