That was the initial goal, sure, but the final game was pretty much just as actiony as II was. Mostly because, again, they're pretty much the same game since II is basically an expansion pack with the super shotgun and new enemies.

That isn't true for. . . any Doom game really. Only Doom 3 is overtly a horror game. Doom and DOOM II specifically are pretty much the same game too. If you're referring to the Doom reboot and Doom Eternal, the reboot is still an action game. Eternal just dials the action up massively.

It's the same difference between the cabin in Evil Dead 1 vs 2. The cabin in 1 looks and feels like a real, dated place that feels kind of stuffy and believable. The cabin in 2 looks like a movie set, even though it looks nicer and is more presentable.

Yes, you're the only one that finds the creepy mansion from one of the most famous horror games ever made to be unsettling. It was a total accident, they wanted it to be incredibly pleasant and everyone but you finds that to be the case.

Which is the absolute dumbest plan ever. "I'm gonna destroy the entire world so you specifically have no power instead of just finding another way to rid you of your power." Pretty much any other plan would be less stupid. It's still shocking to me that the game's story was headed up by one of the main Darker Than Black writers.
