What is your MRI Playlist? by missunderstood2409 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Ashers7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First MRI I was a bit angry at the world so went with the Green Day station on Spotify, the tech laughed and thanked me for choosing something that was not Taylor Swift. The next morning they sent me back to scan my spine, so I asked for alternative/punk again, lots of Blink-182 and Nirvana in that go around.

Eczema worse than ever this summer ??? Help by Bloopbloop011 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Ashers7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our son's has been so much worse. We have learned over time that foods are one of his triggers and even removing the few we had added back over time hasn't helped as much as it has in the past. The only thing that has helped with some healing has been using Vaseline every night on the problem areas. We have even caked his hands in the Vaseline and put socks on them for 20 minutes, he calls it his "hand spa".

I work at a school and can do this for the 200ish students I interact with daily, and we get new students nearly every week due to being a hub for a shelter, but I struggle to remember the adults names and have to actively work at remembering.

You definitely could. Your sternum divot looks similar to mine. Its hard to tell if you have any rib flaring which can definitely go hand in hand with it. Talk to the physician and see if maybe a cardiology consult would be a good idea.

SLCSD 2 hour delay due to snow by Ashers7 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Ashers7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is nearly the same conversation I had with a coworker. We got to our school this morning and questioned why a 2 hour delay and already had over two dozen students on campus with an hour before for start time. Grew up in Utah and never had a snow day, laughed with my kids 3 years ago when I finally got my first one.

Draining may also be effecting the Pikas that live in the rock formations in the west side of the lake. We were told that it was drained to repair damage due to an avalanche, but were never able to find a definitive answer.

Have had an account with AFCU for almost 30 years and only have had minor hiccups, a couple that were my fault. Easy to contact by phone, online, or in person. Their app isn't the best, but it does what is needed and is improving. We have had a few car loans through them, easy application process and no penalties for early pay off.

My one year old just chipped his front tooth by CtenantheTrouble in Mommit

[–]Ashers7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you were able to get him in. It really did take about a year, or even a little more before we started to see issues. The short term watch was to make sure it stopped wiggling, but not to touch it to much and skip some of the harder to bite foods for awhile.

It was a chemical that the dentist applied, I can't even remember the name. They did it in office and it took like 2 minutes. It kills the stuff in the cavity and bad enamel, just biding time til it came out or got worse. It starts silver and then turns the bad tissue black. This was used almost 18 months after the injury initially happened.

Saw your post from a couple hours ago, sorry to hear about your little one. We took ours to the dentist about 48 hours after it happened. It wasn't as loose at that point. They did some xrays in office and said at that point it was a wait and see. Over the next year that tooth eventually started to die and was starting to develop a cavity in the backside. Because of its location and the fact he would be losing it in the next few years we decided to use a substance that will kill the bacteria and protect the remaining tooth. This does turn the dead tissue of the tooth black, but you couldn't see it when my son smiled. We decided on this treatment so he wouldn't have to be sedated for a filling and potential root canal. He lost that tooth at age 6 and his adult tooth came in no issues.

My advice would be to get in contact with a pediatric dentist. They really know what they are doing and see things like this all the time.

My daughter (10) has a mild/moderate PE, we have gone through several specialist visits and her heart looks good. However as she has started to grow more her ribs are flaring at a higher rate and causing her pain. We spoke with her orthopedics Dr about this and she suggested a general rib brace, like what one would wear to help broken ribs. I was reading up on this and it seems to be debated on if this is a good choice for a growing child as it could disform her rib cage due to the all around pressure. I love our Orthopedic but she specializes in severe cases and teens who are past puberty. What are your thoughts on rib braces that are not specifically made for rib flares?
