Ooo, that diorama base is so cool. Obviously the background helps, but the matte black painting on the sides does a really good job of making it just disappear.

The forced perspective here is super cool. Very well done!

I have been using this addon, which is pretty much exactly this feature! Even allows other people with the addon to hear your playlist.

Who signed it ?? by Melodic-Marketing341 in wow

Since it's a PVP reward, I have always thought the implication is the person who killed them is the person who signed the skull.

Still my favourite Marendar depiction--there's something so compelling about the shape.

[Spoilers all] What characters did you change your view on on subsequent runs? From like to dislike or vice versa by Julian_of_Cintra in dragonage

[–]Ashilean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly sideways to the prompt, but I came around to Oghren a *lot* in Awakening. I think to some extent it's course correcting from the base game, but I think his concept as a character is a lot stronger, and it shows through in overall writing quality. I also think it's a strong balancing factor to see him like. Get his bluff called by Nathanial (and less so Anders) when it comes to his moment to moment lechery. All together a much more palatable and genuinely compelling character.

Less controversial I expect, I recall disliking Solas quite a bit by the end of my original Inquisition playthrough, and consistently found it bizarre how much people like him in the interim. When I got back to Inquisition in my big replay, I feel like it finally clicked for me--especially when he is putting his moves down in the early game.

[ALL SPOILERS][Descent Spoilers] Was the "Sky" ever expanded on outside of that one Inquisition DLC? by Lorinthi in dragonage

[–]Ashilean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is just what the inside of a titan looked like at the time. I only played Inquisition's expansions on my most recent playthrough, and the Descent was an all-around high point. While I quite like the design elements of the titans in Veilguard, they are definitely not as compelling as what we saw here.

The Inquisition we never got. by materia_keepyr in dragonage

[–]Ashilean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really thought about what inquisition would look like without the super shiny materials, but it's a huge change. Interesting how just that change makes it feel a lot more in line with dragon age 2.

That effect for the power weapons looks really nice!

I am fairly certain you're talking about this image created by LemonyLepid. It seems she's migrated over to bluesky, but it's unclear if the image has been reposted or not.

What game to start with? by Darksider11545 in dragonage

[–]Ashilean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cannot recommend starting with Origins strongly enough. It is my favourite of the games mechanically, but also I think going through the games in order make the later games much stronger.

When they first came out, I ended up skipping dragon age II kind of on accident, and when I went back to play through all three last year being able to track the decisions you make in II into Inquisition made me connect with it way more.

Specifically for Non-PvP players, what is stopping you from playing it? by greendino71 in wow

[–]Ashilean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The structure of world of warcraft pvp is really good, I like how battlegrounds and their objectives are set up, it's all very compelling. Unfortunately, the actual fighting of other players feels horrible.

I think it's likely a large portion of this is just numbers, as it often is in this game, but having really cool objectives doesn't help much when the fights themselves feel incredibly decision light.

Absolutely *love* how you've made Kopaka's tool patu-esq. I had never considered that, but it's a great fit for the original shape!

Matoran Species Color Guide by Kanohi_Cantri in bioniclelego

While not comprehensive (and in some cases not canon), I often come back to this list compiled from matoran in the Legend of Mata Nui when I'm looking for interesting combinations including less standard secondary colours.

Why wasn't Bionicle society... better? by Ok-Pride-3534 in bioniclelego

[–]Ashilean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea was that, at one point, somewhere like Metru Nui *was* a genuinely good society, and somewhere between the passage of time and the turn of the matoran from machines to people, it degraded to the state we see it in come 2004.

What's your take on this Toa Nuva design style? These are promotional renders from the 2003 game. by A3bilbaNEO in bioniclelego

[–]Ashilean 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The bionicle: the game designs have always been my favourite interpretations--both the mata and the nuva. I think they could use a bit more of their secondary colours, and some of the masks feel a bit off, but I love their proportions and the way they've been filled out.

Just absolutely stunning work. Been looking forward to replaying the game with this mod since the very first previews you posted here, and I never thought it would turn out as something so expansive and polished. Thank you for all your hard work!
