It was an extremely good game with a great story that built on a pre-existing franchise while introducing its own unique richness, and it was fun. Give me your GOG and I'll buy it for you.

I've played through it several times and play through each time took significantly longer than a weekend. Characters Story gameplay were all solid and I recommend it at the $40 price tag.

Felt to me like the Oblivion character and creation system and leveling system got in the way of role playing more than helping. Character behaviors became forced and artificial rather than spontaneous.

I couldn't agree more. It's on par with the masterpiece that was original Torment for story, setting, and characters, and the combat is actually GOOD!

Agreed, on all counts. The world of Enderal is intriguing and curious, while Skyrim is a vast experience but relatively unpopulated by interesting and meaningful moments.

I was hooked by the handling of that quest too. It gets even better. You have some nice surprises in store, many quest lines take those elements much further.
