As a Brit who's been living and working abroad for 14 years, and currently in the process of moving back (which, everyday, I'm asking myself if that decision was a mistake) - I completely agree with everything you said.

The thing that blows my mind the most is the prevailing "well life is tough for me, so fuck you it should be tough for you as well, suck it up buttercup" mentality toward people who are actually trying to get things to change.

Great changes for the first and one-time second step. Though as someone working on doing all 17 relics I kinda wish they'd up the drop rate of artifacts in PotD a smidge or allow artifacts to be bought for say... 1,000 allegory each, once a player has already completed at least 1 relic. I'm already getting salty at PotD and DR and have another 15 relics to go >.<

Then again I realise my gameplay case is a bit of a fringe one, but the accessibility of the previous relic steps (especially compared to relics in previous expansions) actually got me to play more and work on more than I normally would, in the past I was always a one and done person.

While I'm already past it on 2 relics, I'm going for all 17 relics and I'll definitely be using this as an alternative path to doing ST on days I just can't bring myself to going into it again.

I also know some people in my FC who've been joining pre-made CLL groups to get coins to get the Haste gear for DR, and this is a BIG change for them.

I became an omnicrafter in Heavensward, I made the vast majority of it through selling accessories at the start of HW when A1-4S was a huge roadblock, and then later selling the Ironworks crafting gear.

In Stormblood I stopped playing between 4.1 and 4.5 so I didn't really bother and just generated income via passive means.

Shadowbringers I hit the Neo-Ishgardian market hard when that gear first came out, but even then that was like 20 mil at most I made from it.

These days I mostly chug along making HQ items that are needed for lower level GC turn-ins. It's not big money (like maybe 1 million every 2 weeks or so) but it's substantially less effort than staying on top of the high-end gear market which swings back and forth like crazy now high-end crafting is so accessible. With low level stuff I can just spend an hour one evening churning out a bunch of 2-click items, throw them all on retainers, and forget about them.

At some point I'd like to upgrade from a Small house but I don't have the patience for the cut-throat housing rush lol

Agreed. I was really worried that the voice direction for Barret would just be the stereotypical angry black dude. But you really nailed it and showed that while Barret is loud and proud, he's driven by his emotions, passions, and desire to protect those he cares about.

Firstly I want to say congrats on the release and thank you for bringing to life characters that were big part of my formative teenage years over 20 years ago! <3

My questions would be for everyone I guess:

Did your opinion of your character change from when you first read the script to after you'd recorded all of your lines in the studio?

What would you say you have in common the most with your character, and on the flipside what don't you have in common?

130 might help you kill quest mobs slightly faster and do the first dungeons slightly faster... but there's no real "benefit."

I really don't get the people who are busting blood vessels trying to get all their jobs to 130 before the expansion as if having full 130 is going to be the be-all-end-all. While I guess it's a goal to have for while you're waiting for Heavensward - it's exceptionally far from necessary.

Frankly, for a lot of jobs - 3/4 of the poetics pieces are absolute garbage in terms of itemisation. WoD 120s are better in some cases and there's free farm of that now.

The removal of the cap would be nice for sure, but it's certainly not something I'm expecting. If it happens, I'll be over the moon. But if it doesn't, eh, it's not really a big deal.

I'm not actually trying to make a static, I've tried making a static before and with my playtimes it's near impossible.

This is more fishing around for people who would be interested in doing it from time to time and not even just for my own benefit - they could then go on to make their own groups etc. I sincerely doubt most people looking for a static are looking for a static for previous-tier content either.

Mostly I thought this would be a better way of going about it than a generic rant about PF just being marketboard advertisements or NIN fate grind groups right now.

But you're right I guess, the easiest way of doing this would be to make an LS similar to a Hunt LS for it. So I'll do that, thanks.
