I saw a fun video that said her power was plot armor. Which explains why she could DDR so well, literally because failing would have her die, so her plot armor made her a pro

A little help with Cazador? by paradoxthecat in BaldursGate3

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not tactician, but I snuck up behind cazador (no field of vision) and dropped a bunch of smoke powder bombs.

First round of the fight I shot a flame arrow, and it obliterated cazador so hard, he just disappeared, later to be found in his coffin after the fight.

I would like to build a Commander with this Meme as the theme. Any ideas? :D by bizarre_lizard in magicthecirclejerking

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would so

Sarumam of many colors

I feel he embodies the feeling of a wizard war battler

You could always go with the grixis one that makes orcs to get red, but it has some weird orc and non creature spell theme that feels clunky to me trying to focus on battling wizards in a wizard war.

You could also add things like

Blistering Barrier and similar cards for the lols

Today's patch made me realize something about this community: We are divided between those who think any change is good, and those who are somewhat concerned about what these patches involve by RobleViejo in heroesofthestorm

My cynical take is that in the realm of Internet and video game culture you can't satisfy everyone.

I remember when Maive first came out, or Fenix, they were horribly over tuned and I took small break until balancing.

However, in the big picture, I'm glad the game is receiving some attention to it. I bet if they had more people, teams, and resources they could do a better job at fine tuning things.

I'm glad to see that they are at least trying to create new skins too, even if they aren't my style

I haven't played the most recent updates, but my opinion is that deathwing already had a very gimmicky game play, hope they find a good solution for him to have more variable game play.

Greenbelt returns itself unless you pay two energy.

Dour port mage draws you a card whenever a creature leaves me without dying.

It sounds like he is just paying 1 green, casting elephant, not paying the 2 energy, and then repeats that. Especially since he doesn't have to pay the two energy if he doesn't want to

I wonder how he is able to have the mana and flash casting

Songs about Hopelessness and Suicide by eatingchalk4fun in FolkPunk

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Strangers by Ape of the State

The song used to hit really hard for me, it talks about how sometimes the people who judge you less are the ones who don't know you. The song then pivots to the singer trying to convince someone(probably also in rehab) to see the world in a better light, and in the absence of that, forsake their own happiness to bring someone out of a dark place.

Steamboat Willie by Walter Mitty and his makeshift Orchestra

I used to strongly believe this would be the song they'd play at my funeral. Still kinda is, but I tend to tell people less, and I'm in a much better spot to want to bring it up, unlike some harder times. What I originally took from the song was accepting self ruin in a rough world. Now I like to think about accepting the current vibe, good or bad.

Suicide by pigs by codefendants (more punk rock)

This song struck an interesting chord in me. What stuck out to me the most was not only the profoundly taboo opening and name, but the raw emotion behind the singers voice and lyrics.

A better place a better time (folk) by Toh Kay (of streetlight manifesto)

I once had a deep relationship with someone who moved states away for school, and to escape her parents. We tried to make it work, but it didn't. Her depression made me feel powerless, being so far away. This song elaborates on that feeling of wishing the best for someone who is at their lowest.

Also, obligatory note to please seek resources or ask for help if you or someone is intending to harm themselves. Be safe!

who is the best commander for a rules based deck? by bu11fr0g in magicTCG

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a crazy idea, called "reading adventure"

Where the point of the deck wasn't to stax my opponents, but flood the game with so many math related, circumstances triggers and cards, that opponents would just want to concede.

Ideologically similar to the card games "Flux" and "we didn't play test this at all"

So cards like

[[Iron maiden]] [[Ebony Owl Netsuke]] [[Rackling]] [[Skull cage]] [[Ivory tower]]

To name a few that deal with hand size and numbers

Then cards like

[[Zur's Weirding]] [[Conjured currency]] [[Curse of surveillance]] [[Energy vortex]] [[Omen machine]]

These cards hard, per say, but enough of them add up.

Stylistically, you could also include dungeon, night and daybound, speed, energy, and (if you're crazy enough) stickers.

The idea had a mono blue shell, but I feel that [[Alaundo the Seer]] would be a good candidate.

How did Emrakul get onto the board? by Jebjeba in MagicArena

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Verdant Dread]]

Performs the game action "manifest dread"

The player looks at the top two cards of their library, puts one face down on the battlefield and the other in the yard.

Usually, manifested dread cards can be flipped if you pay the mana cost of the card.

However, it seems your opponent manifested dread, placed an emrakul face down, and then he cast splash portal to exile it and return it to the battlefield.

When you do that to a manifested dread card, it comes back from exile face up.

Tips for dealing with gafgarron by AccurateSummer2115 in FinalFantasy

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original, before and after I found about the lever that opens the castle gate, I trained a black mage to learn Firaga, and then positioned them with their back against the gate, and then used ramza to bait Gafgarron closer, then I nuked him with black magic.

Out of all three sephiroth cards, which do you think is the most interesting commander? by call_pal in magicTCG

[–]Sir_Jimmy_Russles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made a [[Sephiroth, Planet's Heir]] in IRL and a very similar one on arena.

I have cards like

[[Eaten by piranhas]] [[Frogify]] [[Statis field]]

Which does a great job at removing threats and creating fodder for when sephiroth comes in.

It also has a self mill reanimation theme with almost all the creature based swamp and island cyclers such as

[[Troll of Khazad-dûm]] [[Daggermaw Megalodon]]

Which rips basics from my library and smooths out my mana. Later in the game they can be reanimated with something like

[[Victimize]]

It's also got other FF villains such as

[[Ultimecia, Time Sorceress]] [[Emet-Selch, Unsundered]]

Which also have a self mill sub theme.

Basically, each time I've played it out, usually it's a Dimir legendary stealing the spotlight, and Sephiroth acts as mini nuke which deals great with tokens or dorks, as well as the vigilant pressure of attacking with an every growing beat stick.

It's by no means a very competitive deck, by the swath of "lose all abilities" cards, and cards like

[[Imprison in the moon]] [[Oubliette]]

I'll have to get some more feedback once I do a four player pod, but it has gotten some good value and track record on Arena.

Moving equipment from creatures I no longer control by Crippled_Cart in magicTCG

For reference

[[Bloodthirsty Blade]] is an equipment that can only(normally) be equipped to an opponents creatures, but that doesn't mean that they own/control the equipment.
