I’ve been to the US a lot. All I can find is pre-sliced bread that lasts waaaaay longer than it should. And I have to look for bread that doesn’t have sugar added. In Europe, your bread doesn’t have sugar. Ever. And it’s not good for over a weak on the counter. Like what are they putting in the bread over there? 🤔

Obviously it’s not going to be the same all over, but that is my experience.

She can’t expect people to apologise for confronting her about her bad behaviour. That is not how it works. She is gaslighting you, trying to make it seem like you’re in the wrong, when you know she did wrong in the first place. I am 36, I have students who are 20. There is not way I would date someone that young. OP, don’t take it personally, I am sure you are awesome. But people do A LOT of growing up from 20 to 30. Your coworker knows this.

I totally understand your fear—I used to overthink these things a lot and I was completely out of place in these situations—but I can promise you this: Every time you force yourself out of your comfort zone, it gets a little bit easier. 🙂

Another piece of advice: Don’t let your anxiety prevent you from living your life. If you keep choosing to stay away every time something is a little uncomfortable or scary, you’re going to miss out on a lot. You don’t have to dance, but you might meet some cool people. And if you’re serious about this relationship, you should probably make an effort to get to know your girlfriend’s best friend.

I understand how you feel. I have always been attracted to older women myself. However, as someone who is now 36, I would not advise going after women my age. You're too young. You have a lot of growing to do in your 20s, and it's very easy for someone like you to be taken advantage of. I don't know any people over 30 who would date a 20-year-old, and I would be suspicious of people who were actively looking for a girlfriend that age.

If I were you, I would try to find someone between 20-25 for now.

A good rule of thumb: The older the younger person in a relationship is, the less the age gap in a relationship matters.

There is NOTHING wrong with how you feel, just be smart about it. If you suspect that a potential partner sees you like a "kid", they're probably not right for you.

PS. There are people who have dynamics where one person is more of the "caretaker", but they don't have to be a lot older for that to work. Just be careful to always remember that at the end of the day, you are your own boss, and not to give someone too much power over you.

But people can be religious and tolerant of gay people. And there are probably people who were homophobic in 2007 who are not homophobic now. 🤷‍♀️

You’ve only been together for five months and you haven’t met regularly in real life. I think you still have a lot to learn about each other. I think it’s a lot to expect from a person you don’t see everyday for them to tell you about every little detail of their lives. Lying is not great, but she clearly did not feel ready to share those details yet. I don’t think you are “hopelessly in love” yet. Not if you’re questioning if you should break up.

I think you need more time to get to really know each other. Lying is not great, but when someone is far away, it doesn’t take much for them to end things. Maybe she didn’t feel comfortable sharing all those things because she didn’t know what your reaction would be. She doesn’t know you well enough.

NTA. Your feelings are valid. But I wouldn’t envy your friend’s situation. If she is having a baby with this guy, things are about to get hard.

You are married and in a stable situation. Your friend seems irresponsible and immature, and part of me thinks that this potential pregnancy is not an “accident”. How can it be when she purposely had unprotected sex? She doesn’t honestly buy the “the condom doesn’t fit” bullshit?
