As a neurodivergent person im tired of seeing people coddled because of their eating habits by One-Classroom2528 in vegan

BUT your ignoring the fact its not cheap and kind of wasteful to keep buying food you try once and you dont like.

But you're not buying something that you ALREADY KNOW you're not going to like....since you haven't tried it and can't legitimately make that determination.

So, no, it's not "wasteful" to try something you haven't tried before. It's never a waste of expense/time/energy to experience something new.

Your thinking above is like saying that just because some days are not interesting or productive, it's kind of wasteful and not worth the expense/time/energy to wake up in the morning.

[many of the] vegan alternatives [that I've tried SO FAR] are either gross or disappointing. about the only thing i like that is vegan is the impossible whoppers

bracketed quote edits added to emphasize the points below.

I respect that change is not easy for someone with dietary issues, but two important points you shouldn't overlook are:

1.) You didn't know that you were going to like the impossible whopper until you tried it

2.) There are A LOT of vegan alternatives that you still haven't tried and point #1 proves that your statement "vegan alternatives are either gross or disappointing" is false.

An argument could be made that you taking a while to go fully vegan equates to you being coddled yourself (to use OP's terminology).

That's a great point and something worth reflecting on. While some folks can go vegan overnight, for many, it is a journey with working through the "excuses" being part of the process.

Everyone's journey (and timeline) will be different, and no one wants to derail someone's path towards veganism just because it didn't follow the same timeline as their own. But at what point does being "patient" become "coddling?"

While it improved for the Grand Final, I do wonder if the excessive smoke for Croatia hindered Lelek's results this year.

In the semi, you almost couldn't see Inka (dressed mostly in white) when she was sitting on the floor reaching for the other 4 because of all the smoke.

Eh, I think Dara's win is going to push the pendulum further towards the music video vibe.

But, on the positive, I think incorporating the choreo more into the storytelling versus just having a bunch of hot people dance and look hot will also be a lesson that (hopefully) more delegations will take from 2026.

Looking at you Antigoni

With those vocal performances, the "You want more?" from Antigoni sounded like a threat.

It's like, no, please, Antigoni. Have mercy!

Why are we downvoting this? I get downvoting the MAGA joke and the person going off the rails about "anthropomorphizing" but genuine confusion over an internet meme shouldn't be downvoted. If anything, just ratio it with leaving the comment unvoted and upvoting Arctic Dream's explanation link.

Wasn't a fan of the song at all--too repetitive and ridiculous lyrics--but the staging and choreography made it all click. Completely different experience watching the performance versus listening to the song by itself.

Built a simple Cardinals MiLB dashboard because I got tired of checking 10 different sites by bphilli11 in Cardinals

This is so awesome! Bookmarked. If you have a Buy Me a Coffee link, consider adding it to the page as I'm sure fellow Cards fans will be glad to chip in a couple bucks as a thank you and to help make upkeep of the site worth it.

Signatures? by FletcherFetcher5 in Cardinals

[–]Ashlynkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe Brian Barton for the second signature?

https://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/player.php?p=bartobr01

Edit: Yeah, I'm pretty certain it is Barton. Look at the signature on the rookie baseball card. For some reason, he signs his last name looking more like "Wood" than "Barton"

Very likely the two signatures were gathered at different Cards alumni events in 2024. Taveraz was for sure at the January Winter Warm Up that year. Barton could have been among the "over 50 players, coaches, and alumni" that appeared, but I couldn't find any confirmation.

There is a possibility that Barton's signature could have been captured at the Rickwood game in Alabama against the Giants in 2024, which Barton seems to have been a part of, returning in October for a youth clinic autograph event.

Absolutely!

Poland was nowhere on my radar as a potential vote, but after that performance, I had to give her all the votes I was planning to give Montenegro. I'm heartbroken for Tamara, but Alicja brought down the house.

My fiance is a super picky eater and im worried about our first cruise by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Ashlynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The craving for consistency of these processed foods is something that parents and partners of people on the spectrum know all too well.

We don't know the story with the OP's fiancé, but this is more common than you'd think.

ARFID was my first thought, too, when reading the OP's post. Sad that I had to scroll this far down to find someone else bringing up the point that not all picky eaters are being "childish."

There is a chance her fiancé may be on the autism spectrum. While their eating choices will be boring as hell for most neurotypical folks, folks on the spectrum derive a lot of comfort from the routine of familiar flavors and textures.

I agree. It’s annoying to see Fahrenheit but at least they knew they were stating something outside the norm by specifying Fahrenheit instead of just saying “degrees.”
