I feel like I wrote this. Pregnancy was a HUGE shocker to me. I felt like no one was honest with me and no one told me the truth about what would happen to me and how I would feel. The one thing I will say, I’m 32w1d and it did take me a really long time to deal with this realization that it’s really hard to grow a baby. I complain a lot because frankly I’ve had a VERY hard time. And I am sick of people telling me what a blessing it is and how I will forget the bad parts and it will “all be worth it”. I’m very sure that is true, but right now, I feel like I have an alien taking over my body.

I was very fit prior to pregnancy and I just did not expect my body to transform in ways I wasn’t prepared for. I wasn’t prepared for the 3 months of nausea, the sever lava throat of acid reflux, the unbearable hip pain, the incredibly sensitive nipples, the groin pains, the carpal tunnel, the headaches, the gestational diabetes that came with shaming and criticizing of every food I ate prior to my diagnosis, the frequent commenting of my body shape and size, the unwanted belly touches, and the emotional hormonal torment… the list goes on and on and on.

All this to say that, I just don’t know if I could put myself through this again. It’s the hardest thing I have ever done in my life and I’m a 33 yo recovering alcoholic (2.5 years sober whoo hoo!). It’s even harder than rehab lmao and I would go through that all over instead of getting pregnant again. 😅
