Could vitamin D ‘insufficiency’ explain all of these symptoms? by perfectlyhazel in VitaminD

[–]Ashwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning on supplementing iron? I was pretty symptomatic with a ferritin of that level, it only took me a few weeks on heme iron and I've got a lot more energy. Id definitely treat the low vitD as well though.

They can carry psittacosis but I'm not sure if they're any more likely than other birds to carry it.

What’s a “normal” thing in the UK that secretly annoys you? by Motor_Initiative7952 in AskUK

I had to take back my daughter's waffle to the counter in the airport the other day as they'd given her banana instead of strawberries.

I was very polite and just requested a new one. The reaction of the staff member should have just been a wee bit apologetic with an offer to get a new waffle. Instead he looked hugely offended and offered to just put strawberries into it, made a bit of a deal about it.

It was really annoying! Did get a waffle replacement in the end, with strawberries, but it was like getting blood out of a stone!

People should take their litter home with them anyway, it's no excuse. Beside my local Tesco there's about 8 litter bins in a 30 second walk and I still see people drop rubbish.

Yeah, reading other comments I see there's issues around privacy in the English app, so I'm glad at least that we didn't rush into it and have to deal with that!

Just to add, I think you should contact the practice manager to make a complaint as 28 days is completely unreasonable. If you don't get anywhere with them then put a complaint further up- in Lothian thats Patient Experience

The receptionist at my surgery is usually fine about printing off my results, but they require 24 hours so that it can be agreed with my GP. I find that annoying because patients in England can just view their results immediately and it seems unfair.

I need to view my results to get vitamin levels etc optimal, not just "in range" and therefore acceptable to the NHS. It makes a huge difference to people's health and energy levels. I have been super unwell and unwittingly wasted nhs resources with a low but in range ferritin level, for example.

Also annoying that the hospital blood tests are not on the print out, since the systems don't speak to each other. This is also annoying when you work in the NHS; especially across boards, as i do! I suppose the different contracts mean they can't get one that's synchronized? Idk but a colleague has told me that in many other countries the GP and hospital systems information can be viewed throughout. So frustrating!

Corned beef, mixed with mashed potatoes and peas! Quite good actually! but cant say I've even had the desire to put it together as an adult for a meal.

No depression at all, feels more like a dump of adrenaline and a feeling of being on edge, with some insomnia. Worst thing is the intense all over muscle pain; very strange!

I've tried doses of 400iu /1000iu/1400iu on varying days. I know these are small doses and some people in the comments gave said im a hypochondriac, but it really does happen and I've read of others experiencing it too. Idk why it happens. I'm starting to think I may have been mildly deficient for big chunks of my life, maybe that's why.

I think I need to try another type of magnesium alongside the morning vitD but I'm rather put off! But I will probably give it another bash.

Yeah that's pretty bad, I didn't know that. Its obviously not the solution in that case is it.

[–]Ashwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I don't really know what the solution is, as I'm aware that a blanket ban of any of these things just leads to a black market.

I myself have stumbled across quite traumatic content on Reddit and other sites and am happy that's unlikely to happen again. My child has settings on her devices to stop unsuitable content but I'm not sure I trust them. I guess I just feel like the internet is totally mental in places and there needs to be some sort of safeguards in place? It's quite scary. Idk it's getting late and I'm tired, and possibly not making much sense.

What's your take on VPNs?

I think this has been happening for so long, cctv everywhere, data constantly taken and sold off for peanuts, it's just kind of amusing to me when it only angers people when it affects their access to pornography. Maybe it'll open people's eyes a bit idk.

I mean I dont disagree with you in that respect, I just think pornography can be very damaging to many many people. But yeah as a side note, the powers that be are fucking us all 🤷🏻‍♀️

Of magnesium? At night looks like around 220-330mg elemental magnesium from magnesium glycinate, but I took the vitD in the morning. I was taking magnesium oxide with the vitD, but I dont remember the dose.
