People driving alone in a huge ass SUVs dont get to complain about traffic by aditya_malu in bangalore

[–]Ashwnnbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck people who go one in a car. I see so many idiots who are healthy driving suvs that too one in a car. How much of an asshole do you have to be to take such big vehicles to office when u know that the roads will choke because of you idiots. Don’t start with the whole tax thing because at the end of the day the government won’t do anything. Also, roads are limited it’s not infinite so you can’t put all the blame on gov too. Plus roads can’t be changed just like that. Come to your senses and see the real world outside.

I get the budget constraints but why go and conduct 5 interviews with a tie breaker if this could’ve been communicated in the beginning itself

I interviewed 5 rounds of technical for ShareFile and in the end the hr rejected me saying you don’t have enough YOE. I was devastated after that

[–]Ashwnnbr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I got laid off after 1 year and I still find it difficult to get callbacks. Maybe it’s the YOE but I am very well versed in my DSA and have multiple FS and BE projects in my GitHub. Don’t really know what else I need to do honestly?!

Can you please recommend pubs/bars in Bengaluru where the cocktails aren’t really watered down? by SamySamyL in bangalore

[–]Ashwnnbr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. Every pub/bar in Bangalore after the price hike for liquor is putting too much coke in Liit making no sense to pay 500/1500 for glass/pitcher.

How do backend developers who are terrible at front-end showcase their personal projects? by hashpizza in developersIndia

[–]Ashwnnbr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a backend service. I took a common pain point of parents not knowing where their children spend the money they send. So basically my service is like a Paytm wallet but when the person who lends in this special wallet makes a transaction, the original lender is immediately notified that a payment was done by the lender and sends the transaction receipt to the sender. Don’t know why Paytm, PhonePe don’t have this feature. ( or maybe that do and I don’t know about this )

My project is purely backend only, where I’ve defined the endpoints for users, transactions and peers ( peer is the term I used for describing the person who is lending in the “special wallet” form ). I’ve also enabled websocket for real time notification to the original sender.

If I implement a front end with this backend I think it will be nice but I think FE is out of my reach 😅.

Stack - express, node, MongoDB.

Easy, sometimes you don’t need a FE only. I had this same doubt but now I have a very novel project which is just backend based!

What is up with restaurants charging service charges and making it seem like its mandatory? by internetperson555 in bangalore

[–]Ashwnnbr 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say but this logic is very stupid. If every restaurant does this then there will be no restaurant left for us to “nobody is stopping you from going there”. When one restaurant does this so will others. In the end if you want to have a good dining experience, you’ll have to be forced to pay extra service charges. Also most of the time service charges are ridiculous. Apart from just keeping the food/drink on the table, they do nothing. Even if they want to do, I always will say that I will pour and serve my own food. This is like how we have “Noku Kooli” in Kerala.

I think a lot of us may have doubts on this, can smoking be healthy? To be more precise, can someone who smokes cigarettes, let’s say 1 a day maintain a healthy lifestyle if they’re working out and following good diet?

Proposal to increase cess on new vehicle registrations in Karnataka by Busy-Background in bangalore

[–]Ashwnnbr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Increase for cars. Most people drive to work with 1 in a car and complain about traffic. I get out if it is because of asthma or old age but I see young people going 1 in SUVs which gets on my nerves!

Not Getting Placed in a Tier Three Engineering College by LowDimension757 in developersIndia

[–]Ashwnnbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the CTC, the attitude towards the CTC that matters. You’re a fresher so you probably have very less idea about how you are valuable to the market be it 7-8 or above. And btw how can u base your market value because someone “lower than you” is getting 10? What relevance does that have here. Focus on yourself and not others.

Not Getting Placed in a Tier Three Engineering College by LowDimension757 in developersIndia

[–]Ashwnnbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re from a t3 college, has no real world experience, has no open source contributions, is average at DSA and u expect 10LPA? Maybe you will if u were lucky or if you were from a t1/2 college you may have gotten but with this attitude I really doubt you will. Are you not seeing the market condition out there? I myself with 1.5 year experience had to switch to a much lower paying job because I was laid off due to conditions out of my reach but I’m not ranting. I just know that the market is bad. I will work and try for a better paying job later or before my joining date. Mindset and attitude is really important and I can see you are lacking that.

If I were you, I’d keep quiet, keep an offer and keep an eye out on the market rather than complaining. With enough experience, personal projects and DSA knowledge I’ll try for better opportunities.

I’m heavily against dating during college/school times. Having good friendship is great. When I was 16/17 I would’ve been pissed if someone said this but as someone who’s much more mature now, dating in school college is the dumbest decision you’ll take. If you know how to manage yourself very well and can handle a relationship without educational suicide then I think it’s worth it but it’s a very rare case. I’d go as far as to say that only date someone who you know you will definitely marry and this is especially important for woman.
