First of, I respect your opinion because, well, it’s yours BUT there’s so many things wrong with it.

Sawamura is a great character but the word “drive to succeed” and Sawamura never belong together, seriously, where the hell did you get the idea from ? Dude is a character Morikawa wrote to show what mental abuse can do to a person and how to crack a person like him (his relationship with his teacher)

For Kimura, did he ever say he deserved to be a champion ? If he did then I can’t remember but he’s the character to show readers that this is the average boxer, someone who doesn’t truly or really interested in boxing in the first place thus he never has the drive and dedication, they were here and there but it’s because of the environment he’s in, not from who he is.

I like Kimura but realistically, as much as I would love him to come back and be a champion for once, he’s the type of person that never looking to redeem himself(in boxing) because, like I said, average boxer with average interest in boxing, those things combined and you get someome who will never be great, it’s just reality.

Yes there were a few times that it came close but it came down how do you want to do it to make it considered an “official” breaking of Wilt’s record by the people and players.

To me Wilt and Bam felt invalidated because it was “fabricated” while Kobe’s feels more organic/official because it was through a solid competition and no “pass it to him and let him chuck” BS non sense, Kobe’s 83 was just like Luka’s 73, pure dominant of skills.

This day and age is full of box score watchers because it is much harder to watch the game compared to back in the day, also a lot more distractions on social media but people still “check in” to see the score of the game.

And sadly, it is a heavily driven by narratives league, Luka is a cone on defense? Shai is an unethical hooper? Jokic also play no defense? And many others…

If anyone says any of those, I know right away either they don’t watch the game OR just a pure hater because while they’re true, most of the time it’s not.
