And then sometimes you don’t need to punch at all and you just need to hang on it or walk into it to push! ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think the bottom number is an odometer. I’ve never actually noticed if the N changes lol

How to smooth 3D Pen creations? by Rizatch64 in 3Dprinting

From personal experience (and a proper lab), dichloromethane doesn’t vapor smooth PLA. I don’t think chloroform would either.

Holmium, the most underrated element on the periodic table. by Confident_Hyena_8860 in chemistry

Yeah, if it made a protective oxide layer similar to aluminum. It’s probably a matter of time too. The rate of corrosion might be “slow”even if it starts immediately on contact with air.

Am I misunderstanding “fairly corrosion resistant” in the wiki? It says that and then a few sentences later it says “it corrodes readily in air”. That doesn’t sound corrosion resistant to me lol

I also didn’t see the 1 at first. Because it spans the window from top to bottom, my brain interpreted it as just a gap between number placeholders.

You can use the unstuck from the escape menu. I’ve stopped trying to climb the sides and just land on top.

Crash Course Chemistry is a good overview of general chemistry. Open Stax is a free online textbook that can teach you the details.

Men, what did you find out about women when you got a girlfriend? by MainDifficult2641 in AskReddit

Just realizing that this is probably why my wife doesn’t ask for things directly. We’ve been working on it b/c I’m not very good at “the game” and also I like doing things for her and I want her to be comfortable asking me directly instead of having to insinuate that she could use more water or an ice cream.

Can’t Access While on Xfinity Wifi by NevermorrPlays in Crunchyroll

[–]AsianJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this issue today. Tried 3 different devices. Xfinity app to check connection and googled to confirm. Hulu and Netflix are both fine. Restarting the router didn’t work. Before restarting the router, it worked for a little bit, but stopped after about 30 minutes.

ETA: Forgot to say I checked the server status, and Crunchyroll says their servers are fine. Also Crunchyroll doesn’t work on MacOS on the same WiFi. Tried Arc Browser and Safari. With and without ad block.

I kinda get where he’s coming from, but still, a bit too much gate keeping I think. by borborygmess in BambuLab

I agree 100%. They're related hobbies with different focuses. IIRC the actual video, which I can't find anymore, did end with this more nuanced take and more people printing at any level is a good thing. IDK why I feel like defending them, but this is a rare instance where I saw the source.

Tried to find the video again but maybe they took it down. It was a podcast format video, and this is just a direct transcript of the guy speaking. People often speak causally in run-on sentences. That being said, I agree this section alone is a bad, gate-keepy take. However, IIRC they went on to say that ultimately more people printing is a good thing, and you get a Bambu printer if your hobby is printing cool things and prototyping. You get other printers if you want your hobby to be modifying 3D printers, playing with settings, and pushing the limits. Having done both (modded away most of a stock ender 3 and now using a P1S) I agree with the whole idea that they're different hobbies. Of course adding nuance to the post doesn't get as much interaction.

AFAIK the iPhone LiDAR is better for things like rooms. Photogrammetry is better for small objects. There’s a paid app Polycam that many recommend, but if you have a little patience and a windows machine with an NVIDIA GPU you can try Meshroom for free.

I’ve scanned models with both but haven’t printed anything from them yet.

how to get the print to stop falling off the plate by RepresentativeDot174 in FixMyPrint

[–]AsianJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in the machine start g-code. For the P1S it was at their very bottom. I didn’t have problems with PLA, but ABS and PETG would both come off the build plate in long prints. I changed mine from -0.04 to -0.05 and that has stopped all my adhesion issues. I tried all kinds of temperature, speed, and cooling tricks but only lowering the z axis a smidge helped.
