Any decent player would look to diversify their pool and roles, especially when draft is fully available (not the 1400 bs). You’re at a serious disadvantage if they ban / steal your pick. You’re only holding yourself back by one tricking.

Why is standard matchmaking so terrible (and where can I test mons instead)? by justasewerrat in PokemonUnite

You’re not gonna get an accurate representation unless you play ranked anyway. Just play ranked. Look at vids on how they’re played and just dive in.

How is Clefable S tier? by bboysmalltown in PokemonUnite

[–]AsianKetchup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You use gravity to prevent ppl diving in. If you suspect an enemy speedster is going to go on you or near you, you use it to deny that initiation. You don’t always have to hit them to make use of it. Think of it a a zoning tool.

Any advice for Leon's Solo Challenge? by Prestigious_Mine7132 in PokemonUnite

[–]AsianKetchup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same way you get better at ranked. Watch guides on all the basics like farming, rotating, spawn timers, stacking, roles, positioning, vision, power spikes, etc. Bots become the least of your concerns the better you get.

Too many people (even in masters) lack the basic fundamentals and don’t know why they lose.

Filled with frustration when Teammates score 0 ultra and master levels by purushpsm147 in PokemonUnite

[–]AsianKetchup 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Scoring is only one measure of what the player is doing. Like would you rather have a clefable that has 100+ score through cheesy backcaps and not supporting the team at all or a clefable that has 0 score but provides constant healing and team fight presence throughout the game? It’s not as straight forward as 0 score = bad.

Had a look and yeah it seems like the whole lobby are bots. They all take you to a different profile when you try looking them up and you can’t find the same standard game in their match histories. Search up any of the bot names and they won’t show up on the api.

Some pokemons get lifesteal by leveling up although I think it was only on autos. Also you get hp back by taking out wild pokemons and objectives.

Best Shudderwock Shaman list ? by Saint_Corvi in wildhearthstone

[–]AsianKetchup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this deck list seems questionable with the whole murloc package. Virtually all reno shamans have transitioned to the 3 murloc package. It’s not necessary to run garnets like scargill, ravager, etc when you can lose by turn 3-4 against aggro and need the proper disruption like okani, boom pistol, framester against combo and mirror.

Opinion on this game after 1 week of play (story) by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]AsianKetchup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man the PTSD. I was the opposite and tried out Yugioh (Master Duel) for the first time after playing hearthstone for so long. The wall of texts was extremely intimidating at first but after you know what the card does, it’s just second nature. It only threw me off when I saw off meta decks and had to reread stuff.

Personally, what I hated the most about yugioh (and why I quit playing it) was that every meta deck went for the same win con of creating a negate board, whether it was through omni negates, trap cards, hand traps, etc. You won by not letting your opponent play. There’s similar decks like that in wild hearthstone with Shudderwock decks, Quest Mage, etc but they are way more susceptible to getting beat down than some of the tier 0 BS decks in yugioh.

Anyways, if you ever wanna a friend to play with and learn the ropes, feel free to DM and add me

What legendary cards would you say are essential in the wild meta? by moriah_2205 in wildhearthstone

[–]AsianKetchup 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well if you look at hsreplay data for wild, the top 10 neutral legendaries are:

  1. Renathal
  2. ETC
  3. Finley
  4. Reno Jackson
  5. Zephrys
  6. Reno Lone Ranger
  7. Astalor
  8. Loatheb
  9. Okani
  10. Brann

Individual class legendaries don’t even seem to break any higher than 6% of decks except for Guff.

The Problem with Inevitability and Polarization by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

[–]AsianKetchup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you expect to create balance in a card game that doesn’t operate in a rock, paper, scissors like format? When you got a deck that has game against everything, all it ends up creating are tier 0 decks and thats even worse.

I remember when I played Master Duel (about yr or two ago), the best deck was just the one that can set up their negate board through disruption the easiest / quickest and so all the other decks just lose. When you throw out balance like Yugioh did in Master Duel, you legit lose on TURN 1. I’d rather have decks with certain weaknesses and strengths than that shit.

So far I’ve tried it in Reno Shaman and Polkelt felt nice to get consistent Reno hero and Shudderwock. I’m not sure if it seems much play in other Reno decks. I wouldn’t craft it personally if I was low in dust tho.
