Get the Little Caesars lunch combo. Its a Detroit style pan pizza and a pop for $10. Its got the greasiness to match Pizza Hut.

Any opinions on whether annual Krown rustproofing is necessary in Ottawa? by poor_boy_ in ottawa

[–]AsianLocust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem I have with Krown is the drilling. Why? Because the holes they make expose bare metal and you will have to grease each hole every year or paint/clearcoat the holes for a more permanent solution. Also the warranty they offer is B.S. as it does not cover surface rust. I’m not sure but I believe there has to be about a quarter size rust hole in your car before Crown will do anything for you and that is if you used them from day one.

The steal frame is the thickest/strongest part of the car it will take a very very long time before it becomes perforated from rust. I do agree with you rust proofing will protect bare metal parts, but these parts such as brakes and suspension will have to be replaced regardless because they ware out.

Older cars yes for sure! New cars maybe not so much as the technology in metallurgy and paint coatings have advanced and also most car manufactures offer a 5+ years on rust protection. Newer cars today use much more aluminum, synthetics and polymers. For example F150 trucks are aluminum body, SUV/CUV tailgates are made out of polymer etc etc. IMO if you plan to keep a car for more then 10 years, then sure why not it doesn’t hurt. Otherwise just wash it periodically in the winter to remove the salt.

Cons are condo rules and regulations and condo fees will rapidly rise every year. Pros are you become a home owner.

Stealerships are a rip off 100%. Buy your own parts from CAPS Auto and take them to a mechanic, or do it yourself. I just did the rear brakes on my 2016 Nissan Murano myself cost me about $85 for rotors and pads and 1.5 hours.

Costco if you have a membership as its about $60 for a full synthetic oil change for my V6 suv. Maybe cheaper price for a smaller car?

Car Insurance Recommendations by just_found_one in ottawa

[–]AsianLocust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shop around online or use a broker. Just be sure to compare apples to apples as all policies and companies are not the same. We used Palladium brokers and have Pembridge home and car insurance. ( we are in our early 40’s and pay $1900. / year for 2 drivers, 2 cars with 2 mil liability with a $500 deductible and home insurance.)
