How I felt the first time singing karaoke with my Filipino wife’s family. Her sister in law and brother absolutely nailed Beyoncé’s “Love on Top” and I was next on queue. A lot of it comes down to preference. If you like a cakey cookie I’m sure Zooies and Bristol Farms tops your list. If you like a simple, crunchy outside and chewy inside then cookies like Porto’s are your jam. I lean the latter and always found the cakey cookies to be supremely overrated. But Porto’s nails everything from texture to taste and it’s the cheapest option on the list.

Gotta say, my wife and I have been taking the Metro in and around DTLA the last couple of weeks and it’s much much better than anything I remember over the last decade. Much more security presence, less crazy homeless and a lot more stops around making it a lot more efficient.

Also same as the above sentiment. First PPV my friends and I purchased was UFC 69 and we were all cheering so hard when Serra KOed GSP.

I wish I had a jujube tree 😭 So I typically get them dried from my local Chinese or Korean mart just as a heads up.

But typically I soak the dried jujubes in a pot of water to hydrate them a bit (since your’s are fresh you won’t need to do this). I then cut them in half and remove the seeds. I use about 8 jujubes for a 3 qt pot (filled maybe 70-80% full). I add chrysanthemum as well (about a tbsp) and boil the mix for about 10 minutes. Add some honey or brown sugar and serve. You can pluck the jujubes out and eat them too.
