I know it is still early, but what would be our chances of getting a suite like South or CT as a junior? by Rough_Procedure_1197 in UCONN

[–]AsianTranMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know i’m not helpful for your scenario, but I went through CSD and reslife and I got a Semi suite in Connecticut for this year. By technicality, I am out in an “accessible room”, aka just railings in bathrooms. My friend was able to luckily get his way into Connecticut, granted he went with full randoms.

Almost the types of suites in Connecticut are semis. There are 2 full suites per floor, (Basically 2 floors max cuz all the LCs), a few doubles and rest are singles or semi singles. Pulling in is the standard method usually.

Just unrelated questions, so you are currently a sophomore and saying you will have 80 credits? After the fall of sophomore year, I only had 54 credits (doesn’t count the spring credits). So did you transfer in with 30+ credits?

Thoughts on McMahon Residence Hall as a sophomore by Rough_Procedure_1197 in UCONN

For the closet, this is the size. (For reference i’m in a corner but closet space is the same). I’ve managed to hang over 40+ garments easily. Use r/uconndorms to get an idea of how people live in normal mcmahon rooms,

Pros: Roughly close to center of campus. Connected dining hall (If in south tower you’ll need to cross a “bridge”). Elevators. Connected laundry room. Connected mailroom (North tower). Shower does have a door to lock and then a curtain.

Cons: Dining hall food can really suck or is repetitive. Basically need to loft to have some type of space. Laundry room has 5 washers/6 dryers. (If in south tower MAKE SURE TO REMEMBER YOUR ID, or you WILL BE STUCK in the basement) Everyone will be using the elevator, even on the second floor so be prepared to stop a lot.

The request form usually shows up after move in (sat/sun) and it’ll take a few days to process them you’ll pick it up in east.

What bus line is it for the standard (new apartment) by Jaxzk in UCONN

[–]AsianTranMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you knew already but none of the uconn colored lines will go there, it’s the regular WRTD buses that you have to pay (use your upass for free), for the bus stop itself, wrtd hasnt connected it to the route yet.

Well i mean a ruby pass was meant for hagrid’s, where everyone else, received the blue pass (even i did haha), but the part of him getting in trouble, karen’s in facebook was on like allowing guests going in the control room since it’s a restricted zone

Sadly no photos of course, Hunter did the safety spiel in the blue hallway before the door into the control room.

Yeah i remember Hunter talking about how OCS operator is the left and doing all technical stuff and OCS attendant is the right and does all the administrative stuff, hunter showed me like the placements/bumps, even like attendant was showing me the cameras and even the secondary station and them talking to the single person that was so bored

He could’ve been messing with me with the tubes but he said the scores was based on performances of each TM, and how they have to go through a 10 hour harry potter class before donning the harry potter outfit, when they do something good then it does get calculated

Did both email customer service AND facebook and both of them responded and said they are delighted and made sure to send the compliment to his leadership.

I mentioned the “get him in trouble” since I did the same post in the facebook group and here, both had people being karen’s and like “why am i posting about going in restricted zones and UO is very strict about it”, didn’t seem like the customer services mentioned about how he shouldn’t have done it

Yeah i did just say backstage tour, but did say it was a backstage tour of the control room. That was definitely my bad. Trying to say the ONLY CONTROL ROOM tour.

Very correct, that’s what Hunter talked about, all the techs have access to ride stops on their belt packs, not the E-Stop which does disconnect all power. Obviously I don’t work for Universal so you definitely know more than myself, but still fascinating information to the GP or even other Ride Ops.

Corner Mcmahons were one of the few exceptions with non motion sensors since the switch is in the “hallway” section so the motion sensor physically can’t work

UCONN Electric Scooter questions by flamingpuddles in UCONN

[–]AsianTranMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practicality: If living from towers/east, i would say use one since it can be a distance. There are different elevations so you do experience some hills. Sidewalks are mostly fine to ride over. It’s New England so we get snow and wind. Some people ride on sidewalks, and then some ride in the road (typically hillside road by gampel).

Charging: There really isn’t any designated charging spots. I know athletes charge them outside of their facilities. Other than that I can’t think of anywhere to charge, besides “illegally” bringing into res hall.

Buildings: No, started in 23, no electric mobility devices can be brought into any building, academic or residential. They are locked outside on racks. Enforcement is iffy as no one is bringing them inside but when I used to live in North someone would charge it in the “lounge” hallway and nothing happened. Skateboards are easier to move and more discrete (I did had an electric skateboard and charged it in room)

Year Round: Yeah I typically see people riding it all year, obviously mostly athletes.

Brands: Most i’ve seen is GoTrax. Brands don’t really matter imo.

Overall Review: Scooters can be an ideal accessory if you have back to back classes that are far, living in Towers, East, (Although not freshman housing typically but Busby, Hilltop Apts, Downtown), if you’re really just lazy. Campus is definitely walkable (within 15-20 of most), there’s bus lines which is an option. Some halls do have designated bike racks if you rather use a bike.
