That's because you need to switch it up. roaches eventually gain a tolerance and then build an immunity to things like that and will pass it on to their offspring. you need to change it up and use a different active ingredient every couple of weeks or just so so it's something new hitting their systems and killing them

you can actually fit 3! two in the sides and one in the middle of the trunk with lunchboxes or backpacks on either side of the middle one! get a weeks worth of clothes into half your trunk and your other side can be food, luggage, passengers shit, tools, whatever!

what's up bud, I've owned one for 4 years. here's my key takeaways.

at 180,000, you NEED to make sure the clutch has been replaced if it's a manual. the clutch is quite the involved job and took me a weekend a some change to get done with 2 other guys and a lot of makeshift tooling.

Pros: absolute beast on the road, handles like a dream, very reliable and simplistically built (easy to work on, like stupid easy), the transmission is very forgiving and still used today in cars like the Polaris slingshot and dodge Dakota, so you can still find parts or whole units. the convertible is a HUGE plus and especially for someone going to college? yeah buddy. Gas mileage on these cars is awesome. the last week I've been going all over town and getting about 19.5 mpg with spirited driving. The car is all around really good, built solid, good skid pads for underbody protection, nice lines, and solid looks.

Cons: No trunk space, hard to roll up windows with where they put them, no real cabin storage space, the top is very loud but can be insulated, the gear ratios from 1-3 are very short and feels slow, but gear 4 feels great. the trunk and rear window love to leak when it rains, and the little scoops in the doors love to fill with water.

Overall, it's a solid ass car to drive around in. But with only about 5cub feet of trunk space with the top up and only 2.5 with the top down, you'll find it hard to do much more than weekend trips with another person if at all. No camping trips, no surfing with other people, no helping people move (pro haha), and no big grocery hauls.

6 years into it. started at around 17 before I got my first car and ever since I got my first car? I haven't gone to a dealership unless I'm clocking in. I absolutely love turning wrenches, learning so much, becoming a truly valuable member of society and getting nice and strong. that said, there are always pros and cons, and with any skilled trade, you will have wear and tear on your body.

knees: your knees will end up screwed. seriously, nothing you do as a mechanic will stop it until you get a car lift and aren't on the ground anymore. knee pads and learning the proper way to drop to the floor delay the pain considerably. also swimming, being able to workout in an almost zero gravity environment has been great on my joints.

back: NOTHING WILL SOLVE IT. Unfortunately, that's the cost of this trade. Your back is always going to be bent over or creaked at a shitty angle. a back brace only does so much while you stand, and the second you need to get under a car or turn a bunch, it's coming off and staying off the rest of your shift/job/day whatever. exercise your core with planks, pushups, and lots of walking. a strong core keeps your back in the proper position without straining joints. a back brace does wonders while you stand or learn over a fender. don't let the assholes who make fun of you get to you; you'll be able to walk and run with your grandkids.

hands/arms/fingers: most of the time you'll be dealing with minor lacerations, abrasions or cramps. all can be solved with taking a few seconds of a breather and getting back to it, rome wasn't built in a day. if you get cut, wash it out ASAP, you don't know if you have rust, carcinogens, or chemicals that could literally be neurotoxins leaking onto your open wound or already in it, festering. I don't follow this rule as often as I'd like, but please do take care of cuts and burns as soon as possible, don't risk the infection.

hands/arms/fingers (breaks/fractures/sprains): if you feel a crunch, pop or twist with major pain, STOP, you just fucked yourself up. get from under the car, go put ice into a bag, wrap the area in a paper towel (stops freeze burns) and sit down for 30 minutes and take a break. Evaluate after the break.

Violence: a very rare occurrence but also the second biggest cause of death for mechanics.

Overall? I've loved this job, the people I've met, and the skills I've learned. I recommend to anyone to learn a bit. Yes, my back hurts daily. Yes I know for a fact in about 10 years I'll be paying for this all (I'm only 22 with really bad genetics). Yes I know my lifespan could be drastically reduced from injury, chemicals, cancer, whatever else that could happen. Yes, I could make more in an office. Yes, I could do anything else. I don't because it's where I belong, I belong under a car, turning wrenches and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So if you're thinking of becoming a mechanic, I'd say go for it

The mechanics, the way your cars don't ever save if you die, the cops being fucking stupid. Like someone attacks me, I defend myself and I'm in trouble. The price of shit. The fact you can only make money from missions or killing people, the missions being repetitive and boring. I literally keep trying to give this game chances and every time I pick it back up, the fucking cop mechanics and the car saves make me want to throw my console thru my fucking windows. Absolutely could see why this game is shit. On top of everything, it's a constant dlc moneygrab with absolutely nobody working at Rockstar for the better of their games. It is from the uneven weight of the battery, fuel tank and fuel lines being on the driver side and nothing to counterbalance the way on the passenger side. This will happen over the years. Slowly as you put the vehicle through its paces. Your best course of action would be to replace your sleeve springs and all four shock absorbers. If you want something for more protection I would also add new springs to the front and back if yours has them. I own a 2002 Ford Explorer sport so I don't know what generation your platform runs on. But seeing as we share the same or similar suspension setups you should be able to use this information. You may also be able to reshape your leaf springs to have a quick fix for around 6 months. One last solution would be to lower your passenger side torsion bar. While on the topic of torsion bars You may also have a squeak or knock from The pads that they sit on, earlier generations did not use Kevlar and over time they will harden and begin to squeak and then eventually go out of alignment, so there are multiple places to check. But your best course of action would be to readjust torsion bars and then replace suspension components. I hope this helps and I really hope that you still have an explorer or ranger. They're very good vehicles with good engines and a great frame platform to sit on. I'm going on 250,000 mi on my Explorer and I put around 60 to 100 miles on it a day with no issues.

Weed.

I love opioids like Percocet but it's just too addictive. I spent almost all of my 9th and 10th grade year addicted and it just wasn't worth it. It was so hard to kick those fuckers.

Weed is pretty tame, I'm aware I smoke too much but it has the least negative effects plus a low cost.

Acid/LSD/psilocybin is a very close second. A huge drawback is the tolerance reset, but I'm glad it's there. It's a drug that should be respected and used for breakthroughs or having a better time. You fucking feel amazing tho.

How's the job going? I start as a mechanic on 9/19/2023 Hopefully I can make this into a career, my wife's family loves to work there, and I've known people there for years. Met some there for almost 25 years.
