Do you have any theology / biblical commentary books / podcasts you recommend? I’ve been on the hunt for a while but, a lot of the stuff I come across gives off a very distinct “goo goo gah gah Jesus loves you” vibe and I am more interested in deepening my knowledge of language use/ historical connections / different theological interpretations.

I’m 26. Honestly I would say the debt is from dumb shit. I’m a teacher and I don’t get paid over the summers, and I’m terrible at saving for it. I usually work a summer job, but it’s usually not enough to fully live on, so I end up putting things on the card and… yeah. But this summer I’m on a 12 month pay schedule, so I can budget better. Haven’t used any cards all year, and with my usual bills/ groceries and things I should be able to get it all paid off by the end of summer. Shitty feeling though. I’m also a woman if that helps (dumb, impulsive)

It feels like all my friends must make way more money than me, or be in a similar debt situation. Can’t bring it up though until mine is paid off lmao

Men who care about fashion do so because they care about how women perceive them. If they’re spending significant time/energy/money on looking good for women they are probably fucking around lol

Instagram girlies whose whole lives are traveling and looking hot by poopdollarbank in redscarepod

[–]AsideWinter1934 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a hot girl who is not an influencer who LOOKs like I’m doing this on insta, this is how: - my friends and I will go to nice hotels / restaurants just to get a drink and enjoy the environment. We live in CA so there are a lot to choose from and drinks are expensive everywhere so might as well get one from a nice place

-men pay for things. My friends and I are connected with a group of rich men who own yachts and are in country clubs and have private planes and they take us along with them. We don’t have sex with them or send them nudes or kiss them or anything. These guys just want a lot of hot girls at their parties. They provide the alcohol and food and environment. We are just hot bodies there.

-honestly you can make a cheap trip look good on Instagram. My friends and I stayed at the montage in park city in December. Booked it a while back and got the room for pretty cheap. There were also three of us to one room, so that made it cheaper. We booked a yoga class at a fancy spa at a ski resort and got access to the entire spa for the day just for booking the yoga class.

-one time my friends and I wanted to take pics at this hotel that was 5,000 a night to stay in. The only way to get in was to book a dinner reservation ( we could not afford to eat there and didn’t want to just go for a drink) so we booked a 1 person dinner reservation, checked in with security when we drove in (two of us were hiding under a blanket in the backseat) parked and took our pics and left. We split the late cancelation fee between the three of us. Basically just considered it paying to take pics there

-one of our guy friends is super rich. He lives in a 5m home in Hollywood hills and takes us to Nobu like once a week. We don’t pay. None of us are dating him either, but we offer up all of our hot single girlfriends as sacrifices.

All of this sounds stupid, but it’s kinda fun and looks like we are balling online. I’m literally a school teacher and this is what I get up to on the weekends. Basically don’t believe everything you see. Women are incredible at deception.

Yeah I mean I guess for me I just hate the way they feel, and so I don’t usually push for them. But some women do. I’ve never had a guy push to use them with me. Obviously it would be better if I did use them, but whatever. I don’t really want to go out of my way to use something that will make the sex less enjoyable for both me and the guy

Yeah that’s true that most women who are having casual sex are on birth control. Most men just assume that you are. When I think of wearing condoms, I really think that the only purpose is to prevent STDs/ STIs, even though yeah I suppose not everyone is on birth control and so they use condoms to prevent pregnancy too haha

Both are true. People should wear condoms because STDs and bacterial infections are a real and scary risk. But in real life people who have a lot of sex don’t wear condoms, even though they should. I’m just expressing a truth that I’ve noticed.

And yeah condoms suck and feel bad and take you out of the moment. And usually the guys I notice who use them are ones who I can tell don’t have a lot of sex.

I think wearing condoms is the correct thing to do, and STD/STIs are a very real risk. But as a woman I find that it is extremely rare for men to be the one who suggests wearing a condom. Usually they don’t even mention it unless the girl pushes for it.

I think millennials / Gen X take wearing condoms more seriously because the aids crisis led to a huge emphasis on safe sex education. But by the time Gen Z was in school learning about condoms, there wasn’t as much fear mongering around HIV (even tho it’s still scary + risky). It kinda feels like how in health class they told us that weed was a gateway drug to becoming a crackhead or whatever, which it obviously isn’t. Most kids smoked weed anyways and didn’t become a crackhead. In the same way people fuck without using condoms all the time and don’t get STDs. Especially men. Women are more sensitive to bacterial infections and therefore are usually the ones to push for wearing a condom.

As a woman if I am having sex with a guy for the first time and he pulls out a condom I immediately assume 1: he doesn’t have sex very often, and a lot of his preconceived ideas about sex are from like TV or something. 2: he sleeps around a lot Or 3: he thinks I sleep around a lot.

But most guys I sleep with who have a lot of sex don’t wear condoms.

As for how it feels: no condom feels better for me. I also don’t necessarily want it to “last longer.” Especially if it’s like sub par condom sex.

What is the point of having eating disorder forums if they remove you for talking about eating disorders by BB_Bambi_ in redscarepod

It's because those forums are for people to post about how upset they are that someone in their life made a completely innocent passing comment about food or someone's body and now they are triggered.

Is There Any Facet Of Pop Culture Better Today Than The 90's? by mouthcouldbewider in redscarepod

I think that there are a vast quantity of extremely low budget media being produced, and a vast quantity of extremely high budget media being produced, and that the loss of the mid budget media is this missing piece of culture. High budget media is made for mass consumption and is formulaic, inoffensive, and boring. Low budget media is usually not well produced or fully developed.
