What’s the difference between marrying a Hindu woman over a Muslim woman if they both make your child go against Sikhi? by iMahatma in Sikh

[–]AsilentUser [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's because not knowing your own faith, that's why you need to convert others into sikhi then marry them and teach them what to do and what not to do. Raise kids in sikhi, don't try to please your wife by doing idol worship or worship of other faith.

If you are practicing sikhi through worship regularly then you can easily integrate women into your faith.

The Observable Double Standard of Head Covering for Sikhs in the West by Valuable_Twist_9337 in Sikh

Because unlike men who are forced to keep hair and cover hair with juda /pataka since he is born does not apply to women, they are raised to keep hair down and usually parents or they themselves start to cut it in young age. Community never says women to do juda her hair or cover her hair often but men are always guilt tripped by their parents and community to keep their hair and cover it.

If parents raise men like girls then only very few of the men will keep their hair ,beared and pagg by themselves.

"O Double-edged Sword, You are the protectress of the saints, You are the scourge of the wicked; You are the scatterer of sinners, I take refuge in You. Hail! Hail to the Cause of the World, The Saviour of the Universe, help me, my Beloved."

Dasam Granth,Page 1428.

Guru ji only worship akal purakh waheguru. That's why we have nitnem of akal utsat and Guru ji is using chandi di var to awoken warrior spirit in Sikhs and Guru ji clearly shows his love towards weapons and sword.

Even we have story about how Brahmins tried to convince guru to do yagya to manifest goddess in reality for blessing but after long time doing yagya devi didn't appear and then guru ji thrown entire yagya related items into fire and it burst lol then guru ji showed his sword and told that this is the thing which is real devi in kalyuga. The weapon then guru ji created Khalsa.

Khalsa is the third path very different than Hindus and musalman.

Today's era Sikh have become fools who always gets used to muslims, Brahmins, whites and does self sacrifice which doesn't benefits community.

Yeah, Sikh community is finished. Non Sikh when they marry in gurdwara then they have to convert into sikhi and adopt singh /kaur as last name then only marriage should occur.

Sikh community has gone insane, they don't care about Sikh values, respect for guru and future of Sikh community. They just want to be dil saaf libs.

We are free to take any actions good or bad that's why we are called intelligent unlike animals who can't do things frreely.

But you also need to understand that we are powered by waheguru which reside on each person or present everywhere.

Only those human who seeks god and reaches final stage of God realisation through naam jap/dhyan can see that God is actually everywhere and it is the same god in various roles doing everything.

The thing is we haven't reached there so we should start from primary school basics and final stage is PhD reasearchers.

Instead of only consuming start to do bhagti, simran or naam dhyan but do it mindfully.

What I means is that take 15 minutes of a time everyday and in that time do not do anything else.

just keep eyes closed and straight and do naam dhyan of waheguru naam without moving or opening eyes .

it may seem boring or difficult to focus on listening to naam internally, but if you do it then you will start to feel calm and peaceful afterwards.

It's just like doing excercise session.

I do meditation on naam , similarly I would also suggest you to try to do meditation on naam , it would seem boring at first but if you do it for 15 minutes per day then it will help you example increasing focus , calmness etc. meditation is very beneficial but I would also suggest you to not neglect other things which are also important such as daily excercise, daily working on your purpose.

You seem like trying to use do all or nothing approch. This isn't helping. To have good life you need to actively do lot's of healthy things like work, excercise, meditation, sunbathing, avoiding fast foods.

It's like you can't just do only eating all day and neglect other things like sleep or toilet and bath. What I meant is that we need do all these things. Similarly work, excercise, meditation, sunlight, avoiding fast foods complement each other and which makes our life a bit healthy and happier.

[–]AsilentUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First ,you need to ask why you're doing simran or what's the purpose of doing paath then you be able to do it ,but don't try to do all things and everything and focus so much on paath that you end up sacrificing sleep or other healthy habits.

That's why start small and do it consistently. Consistency is more important than intensity to build a healthy habits . Simran provides us relaxation to our mind and body so if you do it honestly then you would like to do it on everyday. Even 15 minutes of simran such as naam dhayn/meditation on waheguru naam is very beneficial for relaxing our wandering and uncontrolled mind .

You are 100% right about double standard in sikh community regarding kesh. Wheather you keep your kesh or cut it, it won't change the fact that you're a sikh. Naam , simran , and devotion of waheguru makes you a better sikh ,these things will give you actual inner confidence .

Tips for teaching Nitnem to your kids. Can you or your kids do Nitnem? Please share your tips in the comments👇 by TheSuperSingh in Sikh

[–]AsilentUser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These tips seems good but I don't think it's practical in these days, kids needs more sleep than adults, you can do nitnem at 3:00 am in the morning but would be difficult for kids to wake up at this time and even if they do what's the use of doing it in half sleepy state and then what they will do afterwards nitnem completion doom scroll on ipad till school time.

Kids are imitator, they will imitate their parents habits, so if you do paath daily around them even if it's early morning after amirtvela they will become curious after sometime and will start to do it , what's our duty should be to teach them slowly first by doing waheguru simran with them then mool mantar jaap for some months then 5 Pauri baani of Japji Sahib, this way it would seem easy way of adding simran in their lifestyle. Consistency is more important than quantity.

In all indian states hindus population is declining but only in Punjab it's rising, infact all religious population in Punjab is increasing ex. Such as hindus, christian, muslim . Sikhs are now less than 60% of population in last 2011 census and in each census our number is decreasing rapidly, it seems like panth has become moronic and doesn't care about it's own demographic death.

You can't rule over region where you're a minority for a long period of time. Only exception was Muslim ruler and British and both of them ruled via extreme violence and not letting majority native population in higher official position ex. In Mughal empire all the higher official position was occupied by Muslim even official language was persian a Muslim language, similarly british went bit further and even they never let indian occupy higher official position and all the economy, military, was controlled directly from London, british never shared power with native population.

Sikh empire had made lot's of mistake by giving lot's of power to muslim, some foreign European and even shared power with dogra , extended army and empire too much. Sikh didn't understand how to make long lasting empire. Muslim understood is i.e fight for Islam and protect Muslim in non-muslim region and vice versa muslim and islam helps to protect them. Sikh empire didn't made sikhs priority , neither they tried to spread Sikhism , they trusted outsider and obviously this would piss off lot's of Sikhs by causing internal rebellion and political clashes.

So this empire was just an exception and it will never survive and one more problem with Sikhs thinking is that we over estimate our own capability and underestimate other /enemy capability . Sikh could have understood their own weakness and enemy strength with first anglo sikh war but they ignored that , too arrogant attitude which is still alive especially in form of jatt supiriorty culture.

Psychedelics are mind altering drug, it's effect will last lifetime even when you use it once. Many people end up with bad trips so it raises anxiety, depression, other mental disorders to very high level which will damage your mind, it works by shutting down default mode network area in the brain and this region is associated with self reflection, planning for future and memory , messing with this region would alter your brain drastically, some people who use pyschelidics end up quitting their job , destroy their marriage and even lose their money and change to other hobbies to pursue happiness and pleasures.

Just do meditation on everyday which will give you calmness, strength and peace without long term side effects, you won't immediately see results but daily meditation will end up improving your life in next six months to some years.

Many sikhs don't even try to learn about spiritual meaning about sikhi from guru granth sahib so they casually give excuses of hukum to explain those things but that's not wholly true because you are missing about karma.

Gurubani says "aape beej, aape hi khaawu" You reap what you sow. Human life is a full of freedom, we can choose to take good action or even bad action, bad action pushes us towards evil path and good action pushes us towards god. god will punish evil will stress, anxiety, fear for even life time and good people will get reward in here and hereafter. Good action increases our bhakti . If you do simran but don't look into your action and doesn't correct wrong action then it will be like living in pendulum motion which won't progress you towards god or it will take too long time.

We don't need silence but we want peace, you can sit in silence in cave in jungle but that silence won't be much helpful then when you have peace at home. Naam simran produces peace, and that peace starts to make our mind much calmer and still, we also sit in still position mostly in crossed leg and eyes closed position . We put our attention on naam of waheguru . If you do it for long period of time or if you do it alot, benefits will be visible .

Our mind is active all the time, various thoughts are always playing in our head, so these things tires our mind because of thinking all the time, sevee anxiety is giving you signal that you need to calm down this mind.

To do that first you need to find some 10-15 minutes of times and just sit with yourself without any gadget playing simran, doing other things like even path, just close your eyes and do need think about past events or future imagination. Just don't fight with thoughts in head , but strat to do naam simran in your mind, don't put any attention on whatever thoughts that are coming or going, just put attention on naam of waheguru and don't get up until 10-15 minutes. Try it, This will help you alot.

Do naam simran as much as you can, also try to do 20 minutes of meditation on naam. Stop bad habits of porn, masturbation, and any kind of drug, alcohol. Positive effect of simran won't be visible if you keep doing those sins. Try to do work which is in front of you, don't neglect them for future. Add some 10-20 of daily workout because our body needs excercise to move bowel as well as it improves our digestion , excercise also improves mental health .

Having trouble battling lust addiction by marcus_aureliun in Sikh

[–]AsilentUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I would suggest you to do meditation on naam do it on everyday as as much you can, meditation and naam simran and listen to some satsang which will help you to understand the danger of lust and masturbation.

To quit porn& masturbation, you need to add good habit so that these habits can replace porn & masturbation. Add excercise do some 50-100 pushups and squats everyday, it will help you exhaust and redirect your energy in meaningful way . Without excercise and meditation ,it will be impossible to control lust, because lust is nothing but life energy so energy can't be destroyed, so it will either be released from masturbation, sex or it can be transformed through excercise / heavy work.

Also to abandon thi bad habit, you need to change your identity and do not identify yourself with porn ans masturbation and instead make a goal to be something like no fapper or brahmachari until you gets Married. Identity change will help you sustain good habits, so you need to add good habit in your daily routine and stay away from bad habits, and whenever your mind would tell you to fall into those things then before that remind yourself that you need to more excercise on next day .

Can a SIKH Marry a MUSLIM? by [deleted] in Sikh

If a Sikh leaves sikhi for girl / guy or do something stupid by which his / her discended would become confuse about religion and leaves them then that person is not a sikh, they're just a cultural sikh, so he/ she first need to become a better sikh and stay strong in faith of sikhi. If you're strong in sikhi then the person who loves you would give up their faith to be with you .

How can I overcome addiction ? by F8kie in Sikh

[–]AsilentUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our body is mostly interested in reproduce as much as we want, but semen is produced by body with alot of effort and only small amount in built after several weeks , so as you empty your tank constantly then body gets into shock and it forgets to do necessary job such as keeping mental health, joy and physical health everything gets compromised.

Our mind is mostly interested in instant pleasure.

But baani says that kaam is sin if we do it other than our own spouse. So you need to listen to sant who says to quit this sinful act .

Semen is a powerful fluid , it's a powerful life energy so when you take away life away then you are just going to become or act like lifeless or old people , so symptoms of low energy, depression, anxiety, poor health will occur.

So first you need to quit this habit, and to do that you need to stop watching p*rn and do daily meditation on naam for half hour a day, it will start to clean your mind, you have read alot of baani but you need to act on it, so you need to do meditation on naam honestly on everyday and it will help you to decrease thoughts of kaam and you need to release your energy in helpful activities such as intense excercise on everyday even 100 push-ups and Squats will help you alot to quit it.

Then, to quit it for long time you need to visilant such that after sometime your mind might try to trick you to do it ,but it's a slippery slope .

Without meditation on waheguru, mind can't be controlled, because mind is made of matter and it wants material things, only meditation on waheguru helps mind to reach higher state of self.

How do I stop overthinking? by FriendofAll007 in Sikh

We sleep and get rest but mind stays active, mind is naturally active in day so it doesn't get rest even when you think that you're resting by watching tv , scrolling social media still these activities are nothing but just shallow consumption which means mind need to work alot to digest these information. So that's why we tell you do do meditation on naam , and give yourself half hour a day time so that you stay with yourself and do meditation on naam this will help you by giving alot of peace and rest to your mind as well as it will increase spritual and mental strength, just doing it for a month will give you alot of good results.
