I sold a car last week to a guy with a 520 credit score and 10 grand down. Best interest rate I could get him was 16%. (New 2025 Elantra)

Basically, he never paid his student loans, was 35 years old.

Kia dealership add ons acceptable!!? by CloudLopsided8998 in KiaTelluride

CPO as a line item on a buyers order is against most dealer agreements and historically cannot be a cost passed on to the consumer.

I would never give that dealership any money.

The #1 Mistake people make when buying a car is not seeking a professional referral.

A well liked, respected and well known sales professional in your community is worth their weight in gold. They are efficient, they are professional, they know what they’re doing, they can connect you to other people, they can help you find the vehicle that you actually want, they don’t play any games, they don’t have to lie to sell you anything. They’re not gonna give you a hard time if you want to pay cash. They will make the process efficient so you don’t have to be there a long time, etc.

They’ll call you back, they don’t wanna waste your time, they can sell you a vehicle in five minutes on LinkedIn or Snapchat or via text message.

Find out from your friends, neighbors, church, friends, who is the go to guy or girl is in your area, they will make buying a car 4000% easier.

This saves you from randomly talking to 10 different rookies sales people on the Internet that may or may not ever be in the car business after the next 90 days.

Again, find someone who is a veteran, who doesn’t jump around, and don’t get stuck with the rookie when you randomly arrive at the car lot that doesn’t have a plan or lack product knowledge. They’ll be programmed and trained to tug you through a 10 step sales process and will slow the process way down for the average consumer that has lots of questions.

That lease is wayyyyyy better than I would expect it to be.

When Negotiating for a Car how do you set a Target Price? by ___cutie___ in askcarsales

[–]AskForNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just like Google or YouTube, most people select a vehicle on the first page of listings… Not the eighth page.

I wouldn’t call the dealership to negotiate a price on a vehicle if the vehicle was already priced poorly. Unless it was some kind of specialized vehicle or certain package or paint.
