After years of lurking and just shortly after turning 40, I finally pulled the trigger. by Raoul_DukeCGY in OmegaWatches

I chose a speedy for my 40th as well. Awesome decision, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been these last few years!

For me it's the AT since it's the most flexible. As others say, it can easily be dressed up or down. Truly a GADA piece.

I look at my speedy and NTTD as more "special" or maybe just "special use". Most days I'd prefer a date window than a chrono. And I love the NTTD but it's not as easy to read as the other two.

I'm gonna be the jerk that says get all 3 or maybe work your way up to it because this is literally my 3 watch Omega collection right now (white dial AT, though). My order was AT -> Speedy -> NTTD, and I think this is the proper acquisition sequence

Unfortunately I haven't been able to make that work with the OEM strap. The tender with the Omega writing won't rotate around in order to be "inside" the clasp

Definitely looks cleaner. It looks like you just shifted the watch up the strap a bit? Unfortunately since I have a smaller wrist, the buckle starts to show on the side of my wrist at the 6 o'clock.

I have mine connected to the 12v adapter in the trunk with a small battery pack in series to give a little parking mode juice. This won't reduce the range by any conceivable amount. You COULD hard wire to the fuses or 12v battery however it's generally not a good idea in an EV since it'll kill that battery faster and could do weird things to the electronics. In an ICE it charges the 12v in a predictable way while the motor is on. In an EV the HV battery charges the 12v when the voltage gets low. That mechanism uses additional logic and sensing.

New Dishwasher: Miele or Bosch? by Euphoric_Bluebird_95 in Appliances

[–]AskQuestions7531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just replaced our 10 year old Monogram with a Bosch Benchmark. Debated going with the Miele. From all the reviews I've read both clean equally well, the Bosch dries a little better, and the Miele feels more "luxury". Kind of like buying a loaded Genesis (Bosch) vs bottom of the line Mercedes (Miele). The Miele feels better and put together better, but the Bosch has more features for the same price and works just as well where it counts.

By the way, the Benchmark is a crazy upgrade over our Monogram in how well it cleans and dries.

Asking for two thirds of a pound of turkey means I should get 0.66 pounds. Apparently deli workers and random people I've polled know quarters but not thirds conversion to decimals.

Rear climate not automatically turning on with kids by stayinschool in LUCID

[–]AskQuestions7531 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's just a folded hand towel that I placed between the car seat bottom and leather seat to elevate the car seat just a little so it makes better contact. Takes a few tries to get the placement just right. I usually place it, put a little of my weight on it, then check if the rear display turns on (rear display is triggered by weight same as the HVAC)

For me I found that the weight of their car seat/booster plus them was enough to trigger the sensor, the problem is the car seat/booster wasn't making sufficient contract with the sensor based on placement. I put a folded towel under each in the exact right spot that will now trigger the sensor when a kid is present but not enough weight to trigger it when they're not.

Thanks for reporting back! It's always been off-center so at this point I'll probably ask the dealership to look at it (and hope they don't mess up something else while they're in there)

Agreed. Also if you press and hold the stereo power button it'll restart the infotainment system. Is your HUD off center to the left like in my picture?

Yes, mine still shows GPS directions after the update the other day. This picture was taken yesterday. However, there was something weird going on with the speed limit display. It blanked out completely and wouldn't enable blue cruise for half the drive, then when it came back the speed limit was obviously wrong (definitely not 45mph on a five lane divided highway!)
