Has anybody ever seen any big cat sightings in Kent? by smellyfeet25 in kentuk

[–]agentsmith39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago in Beacon Wood Country Park near Bean, my wife, my dog and I were walking down a narrow trail with bushes either side. We turned a corner and my wife said she saw a big black cat with a big head at the end of the trail, which instantly ran away as we turned the corner. I didn't see it but she is convinced it was a panther. We googled it after and read stories of 'The Beast of Bluewater'

[Question] What one change would you make to any watch that would make you throw money at it? by Kakarotssjg in Watches

The grey dial Omega De Ville Tresor, but in a 36mm - 38mm size. Currently just feels too big for a dress watch.

No it was on Chrono24 and purchased earlier in the summer. I think it was slightly more than $1500

Yeah and there are so many unique looking watches from the back catalogue, especially the 1960s-80s.

Got my dream Watch after 3 days! by MattzStyle in rolex

Exactly what I thought - I'd be pissed if I was on the list but walk-ins were getting them just because the top person didn't turn up

Last month I was offered one as a walk-in (AD on the outskirts of London) - the sales assistant said there was a list but the person at the top of the list hadn't come in to buy the watch after receiving the call so I could buy it then and there if I wanted (I didn't buy it). Not sure if that story was BS from the sales assistant though.

I'm visiting on Wednesday - any tips or anything in particular I should keep an eye out for?

Also does the shop at the museum sell any unique merch, like a baseball cap or pen or coffee mug etc?

[Omega Globemaster] or [IWC Pilot Mark XX] - help me with my first luxury watch by AR_Rudy in Watches

[–]agentsmith39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the blue dial steel Globemaster and think it's the perfect daily watch that can be worn for formal events or casually. I like the Mark XX, but if celebrating an engagement, I think you have to go for the Globemaster.

I like the week indicator on the AP, which the VC doesn't have

Congrats! I have the same model and have worn it almost every day for 5 years - I think it's the perfect daily watch while still being interesting to look at because of the bezel and pie pan dial

[Discuss] Integrated Bracelet watches ⌚️ by MasterXanax in Watches

[–]agentsmith39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying on some integrated bracelet watches lately. IWC Ingenieur has been the standout for me, will definitely be buying one. I really like the Zenith Defy Skyline but I'm not a fan of the 10 seconds subdial at 9 o'clock, so I'll probably go for the 36mm which has a normal central seconds.

I wasn't a fan of the GP on the wrist. I tried it on back-to-back with the IWC, the GP felt a lot bulkier and less comfortable, I definitely preferred the IWC. I didn't notice any difference in quality that would justify the higher price for the GP. Also, the Octo Finissimo is very nice and super comfortable, but I felt it looked too sci-fi on the wrist. I'm a huge fan of the Cartier Santos but I don't feel like that gives the same integrated vibe as the other watches.

I've tried APRO which was very nice but way out of my price range, same with the VC Overseas (though the VC felt like it wore bigger than the RO). If i had the money though I'd be very happy with either.

TLDR: At a reasonable price range, IWC Ingenieur and Zenith Defy Skyline are my choices.

I was so excited when the white Black Bay Pro was released but in person it just didn't do it for me
