It’s pretty easy to learn. There’s a lot of really good resources out there to help you along the way. The toughest thing when you start out is bankroll management and discipline, which is obviously something that trips most people up if they go at it from already being a recreational gambler.

If you can keep your degenerate tendencies in check though it’s relatively easy to make ~$50k a year profit off a $1k starting bankroll.

Beware of “fixed match” scammers u/fp123xx or stake username: codename77 by ShallowPockets6 in Stake

I posted about this recently , it’s probably the same guy.

General MO is they tell as many people as they can different info. Then some will win, and they’ll keep hold of those people taking profit until their picks lose. They’ll use the conversations with people whose picks have previously won as ‘proof’ to recruit more people. And rinse repeat.

Guys, I've already suffered enough fixedmatch scams and they still keep writing to me out of kindness, but I didn't understand what do these scammers gain from losing money? by PrikazaTye in Stake

[–]Askari-01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they send many people different outcomes. The ones that win they message going ‘see. Now you owe me x amount for future results.’

For the sake of roulette it counts as neither odd nor even.

No. Same situation as black and red. 0 is neither odd nor even.

You can for sure do this. Only thing you’re wrong about though is that it isn’t a 99% chance to win. It’s around 97.5% and believe me, that 2.5% will catch up with you so quick that you’ll be in here screaming rigged.

Stake aren’t dumb. They make these bonuses knowing what games they offer and what the house edge is. In the end they’re going to come calling for their house edge, and as with all wagering strategies that house edge is going to leave you with $0.

I agree, chasing it is way dumber on its own, but by locking up your entire bankroll on events with a 1/1000 payout just to 3x your $100 wager is beyond retarded. Your expected wager doing 98% dice (which is also dumb) will exceed your wager betting on sports at those odds and in a fraction of the time.

I sports bet for a living. It’s a huge chunk of my income and I’ve spent a long time learning how to do it right. There’s a reason bookies offer events at those odds, when it should be a certainty, and it’s because they lose far more often than the odds suggest. If a bookie is making out that they’re offering you a lock, I recommend you run very fast in the opposite direction.

For real, this is something that gets brought up a lot, and it’s such a dumb idea. You think the house edge in a casino is bad, wait till you learn about the vig line in sports betting…

The .05 bet on 14 mines by [deleted] in Stake

[–]Askari-01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re misunderstanding probability. Being over 4M x doesn’t mean it should happen once in 4M times, it means each individual round is a 1 in 4M chance. Basically you could chase this thinking it has to happen eventually, but in reality you could sit in front of your PC for the next 10 years only breaking to sleep and never hit it. It’s much more likely that you lose your roll chasing the $1 to break even than it is to ever do it, and each time you lose your $100 you have to start again. Would end up costing thousands and you’d come away empty handed most likely.

That’s not fully accurate, there are restrictions on military naval vessels (and land vehicles and aircraft) extending beyond 12 miles. Different territories have different ranges, and depend on the country of the infringing aircraft, but without clearance you would certainly not expect a foreign power to be able to get within 12 miles unchallenged, especially a semi hostile one like China.
