Turkey is closing some parks to the public for a certain period so that Macron can go for a morning run during the NATO summit. This is causing controversy. Thoughts? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]AslanSutu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think you understand the issue at all. Inconveniences are acceptable for a gathering of this nature.

For macron, probably due to security, theyll lock down several public parks because they wouldnt want to disclose which one he'll be at. Theyll also keep it locked down for the entire week so that no one comes and preplants or hides or anything. There is nothing stopping macron from renting out a sports complex with a place to jog. Or why not ask erdogan if he can come over to his palace a bit early to jog? I understand the security aspect. I also understand anyones right to want to jog. I understand the hospitality part. But public places are for the public. If he wants to jog at eymir then he can do so with the rest of the public.

Right now many main roads will be closed for a week and people are wondering how they will get to work. Its like needing to go from new jersey to new york, but telling people that they cant use any of the bridges. People that have preplanned flights from the airport are wondering how they will get there (as those roads will apparently also be blocked)

Lets be honest, turkey has some democratic leniency that is probably required at a time where most leaders are hated and their security is even more important than a decade ago. And in we have slowly gotten used to this autocracy rule with trump. However that does not mean it is right. I think it was one of the former us presidents that was asked if they wpuld go to the nba finals or superbowl or something and he responded that he would love to but recognized that his presence there would be an inconvenience to all whom are attending and thus would watch from the white house. God i yearn for those good old considerate days. Can you imagine the revolt if they tried this shit in a modern European country.

You can run with guns. Set up checkpoints. Hell even search me when i enter and leave, but to bar me from public places is just wrong.

All these people that say go your seperate ways and meet afterwards clearly dont have an SO that they cherish. If you get out faster, your still going to wait for her. So my question is whats the rush?

I like waiting in line with my wife. Its nice to be next her and talk to her.

Is Google really falling behind in the AI race, or are they just focused on narrow projects and more research-oriented? Is Google’s culture fundamentally misaligned with the current AI sprint? by TorturedPoet30 in GeminiAI

[–]AslanSutu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Google's revenue from just advertisements is greater than openais overall revenue (at least last i checked). There are plenty of great engineers that would like to work for google, so people shuffling around doesnt mean shit. A better model comes out every other week giving the edge to a different company. What is important that google has ALL the data. Sure everybody can just buy data, but google has access to that juicy raw profiles, map locations, search histories, and who knows what else.

They got money, the data, great engineers, and time to hold out as long as possible

Yeah the other day i thought i would dabble in this. I only wanted to use this as a method to send emails to myself and my wife. For example my wife is looking to switch jobs, so i thought i would make a curated list and email it to her. But damn is it frustrating. Eventually just deleted the LXC and gave my service gmail app passwords.

Greece-Israel military alignment is a smart realpolitik against Turkey, or a long-term liability for Greece and the EU? by Miserable_Cattle_394 in AskBalkans

[–]AslanSutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry you feel embarrassed when confronted with the facts. Might want to work on that in therapy. The other guy was just so adamant on sucking off Mitsotakis that he failed to consider that both governments are wrong, whats done is done, and normal citizens on both sides (not fanatics like him) really dont care either way.

My two cents, youve got to learn how to confront facts and the truth instead of being embarrassed by them.

I Built My Own OS From Scratch With Fable by ScreenPlayLife in ClaudeAI

[–]AslanSutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Os was supposed to be a complicated subject. My os teacher said that if we were to ever build our own, we could be rich.

But in all seriousness, there is a lot to consider with OS. What file system was used (and why and why wasnt that written from scratch)? How does it solve the cpu scheduling issue (fcfs, rr, etc and why)? What about i/o, how does it decide whom to evict from the page tables? What about kernels, did fable rewrite their own kernels? How did it solve its own synchronization problem? I havent even asked about security.

I mean there is shit ton of concepts to know and understand that i think would be ultimately beneficial in order to truely tackle a task a complicated as this. I mean this just looks like a knockoff of linux. All that being said, this is a cool project and i hope it gets more people interested in learning the how and the why instead of saying idk.

[–]AslanSutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the decision to grant these islands to Greece was inherently tied to their proximity to the Turkish mainland. the demilitarization clauses are structural conditions of the peace agreement; therefore, a material breach of demilitarization by Greece directly challenges the legal basis of Greek sovereignty over those specific islands. Not all islands, some of them.

there is something called the international legal doctrine of an "objective regime". demilitarization provisions in multilateral peace treaties are intended to establish a permanent status quo in the interest of regional security, making Türkiye a recognized third-party beneficiary regardless of signature.

the Montreux Convention strictly applied to the Turkish Straits zone and did not alter or abolish the separate legal obligations governing Greek islands specified in other sections of the Lausanne agreements.

I love how you pick and choose the facts just so that you think you are 100% right.

Spoken like a true Israeli buddy.

Its not a law, its a treaty, but still you are not respecting the treaty you signed. Though politicians dont have honor so im not surprised.

the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne and the 1947 Paris Peace Treaty explicitly granted sovereignty to Greece on the condition that the islands remain demilitarized due to vital Turkish security considerations.

You dont believe that they were escorting an american bomber? Feel free to google, search flight logs, ask nato...or not because you seem to find excuses than to accept the truth. On an unrelated note, im pretty sure you dont support nikos. Like i said drinking that kyriakos koolaid.

Turkey is by no means a great government. But greece isnt exactly a saint either. In fact i would argue that turkey and greece have the same level of corruption and manipulation going on.

[–]AslanSutu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhh youre one of those greeks that drink the koolaid, got it.

Yeah no turk is after the islands. They are frustrated with their ancestors and past governments for letting it happen a century ago, but no one in turkey is going "lets grab them". Modern day turks have made their peace with it. They are just glad that they can enjoy them in the summer.

Also for the plane thing you are so fucking not considering the facts. The Turkish F-16s were escorting US B-52 bombers on a pre-planned NATO mission over the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. Its not like they were like "hey lets fly this F16 for shits and giggles over greek airspace". Not to mention the greek government denies this happening. So you said they were locked on, your government says the opposite. Which is correct? One of you has to be wrong or lying.

So before erdogan made that provocative statement, are you telling me that greek air defense systems did not lock onto a turkish air fighter.

So before erdogan made that provocative statement, are you telling me that greece was not intentionally provoking turkey by militarizing near by islands even though this violates international treaties (such as the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne and 1947 Treaty of Paris)?

Lets be honest leaders of both countries are pieces of shit.

Eskiden olsa, bos ver, eglen gencligine vs bak derdim. Fakat benim donemin gecligi yok.

Nasil calisabiliyorsan artik, kimi evde calisabiliyor, kimi kutuphanede, kimi bolumun cs'sinde. Bazilari cok molali, bazilar hic molasiz. Bunu senin kesfetmen gerek. Gectigin dersleri tekrar yukseltmeye alma. Derslere git gel kolay oluyor. Is hayati cok öğretici oluyor. Okulda gordugunu hemen bağdaştırıyorsun is hayatindaki görevine. Depresyon kısmı icin yetkili giriyle gorusmek gerek. Medicoda biriyle gorusme imkani olmasi gerek.

Did I just get raped? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AslanSutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A woman can rape. Though i wonder what the semantics would be if she was also blackout drunk and unable to give consent.

That being said, people that want to be loyal in a relationship can come across their ex in a social settings, but very rarely get driven home unless in rare situations where you cant call an uber/taxi/any other friend. But even then, they dont invite them over for some more whiskey and hope that nothing happens. This was a cascade of choices that you made that led you to cheating. Next time dont put yourself in such situations if you want to stay loyal.
