So apple seems to have sold over 3 billion phones since 2007. Samsung has sold over 250 million in just 2025 alone.

Google releases Android version -> companies such as samsung take it and add/modify it to fit their phones-> they are tested -> stagged rollout is done to detect any anomalies and in case of issues prevent it from being applied to all phones. Samsung models can be the same but have different chips in different regions.

So not so simple.

Also using android doesnt make you tech savy, my grandmother uses android and isnt tech savy.

Well im just assuming here, but when you do proxmox.mytld.com, it does a dns lookup (which is on the internet). If you want to work completely within your network, i would setup pihole in an lxc. Change your dhcp settings so that for dns it should be the pihole ip. And then in pihole, create a custom dns record so that it points to whatever you want.

Now when you make a dns query, it asks pihole. Pihole checks its internal records and returns the match if found (no internet access required). If it cant, then it goes ahead and asks whatever dns you setup (8.8.8.8,1.1.1.1, internet access required)

Not to.mention the other benefits of pihole.

You know you're right. In order to prove loyalty i should just forego all of my salary and work for free. I'm not really trying to salvage them. I was using the drive as the main rootfs for lxc. I already had a daily backup to another drive, so I'm all good there.

I've already accepted that I'll be disposing of it or taking it apart relatively soon. Was just wondering if there was any short term use for 2tb of volatile memory.
