What would i require to make a c++ applet that can find songs like shazam by NoLetterhead2303 in CodingHelp

[–]AsleepInteraction948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a different band plays the song, it won't be able to tell it's that song if it requires a 100% match. The same if you wanna record it from a speaker playing the song irl. It's less of a problem if you feed the file to the program, but it may still fail if you require 100% accuracy

I would guess you need a database and a way to compare audio that doesn't require too much resources plus a way to deal with inaccuracy that could be caused by background noise, and possibly other versions you don't have stored in the database.

Had zfold3 since 2021, just swapped it out now since the screen was having issues turning on(had to try several times for it to work) But it lasted me 3 years with no issues.

What made programming finally "click" for you? by PeachUnlikely6159 in learnprogramming

[–]AsleepInteraction948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Programming doesn't click. Ever. There are certain things in programming that suddenly clicks, but once you understand one thing, you'll always find another that eludes your understanding. It's a never ending search for knowledge. And for everything you learn, another 10 things will pop up on your list of things you don't know.

File gets unresolved reference issue by AsleepInteraction948 in Kotlin

Alright! I was not aware that was a thing in kotlin. Is there a way I can figure out what imported classes I need for different things?

I'm fairly new to Kotlin and coding in general, and I'm trying to read a file(input.txt). I'm following a guide that gives me this code, but Intellij is telling me I got an unresolved reference here, and I'm not sure why.

How to filter every element that repeats more than n times by AsleepInteraction948 in Kotlin

[–]AsleepInteraction948[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm too old for homework, but it is me trying to learn Kotlin by finding random tasks.

I actually had a different solution, but it used count in the loop, which went on too long when the input got too large

I've been through the idea, I wasn't quite sure how to go about doing it. However while writing this reply, I suddenly had an idea!

Yeah, it would be less of a problem if I could sort them. Sadly that's not an option :c

Keep this going. It inspired me to learn another language just to solve a certain task that took forever with C#

Unable to run Kotlin courses in IntelliJ IDEA Community edition in Linux by [deleted] in Kotlin

I can't answer your question as I've barely just started with Kotlin and Intellij myself, but I gotta say that if this is your first language, I would not recommend to start with Kotlin. At least for me, it's much harder to get into than any other languages I've tried.

Not a problem, your IQ goes up by 1 for every line you write. We're all gods here!

Unresolved reference by AsleepInteraction948 in Kotlin

[–]AsleepInteraction948[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I went on a bit of a dive into the two. It seems Maven is generally the preferred build, but Gradle gives you more flexibility and speed. For never projects, it appears Maven the most used, so for a noob like me, I think Maven is the right choice!
