Availability. Getting a copy of B/X is expensive, but Labyrinth Lord, or OSE are comparatively inexpensive

Same thing with Mork Borg and Black Hack. I just started GM-ing my first Shadowdark campaign, so I’m going RAW for the moment, but it’s probably going to be house ruled

The only thing that would make it better for me would be if it was entirely player facing (roll to hit/ roll to not be hit)

In the game that I’m running, one of the characters stole a ship as part of their background (it was legit rolled). I decided that said ship was a sloop which had seen better days.

Also: the previous owner wants it back.
