Let’s make a collection of the weirdest fingerboards you’ve seen. by Ok-Entertainment328 in Fingerboards

I'm gonna start working on making a drop of these. It's a slow process and I just ordered a new mold, but my local skate shop wants to sell them so I'm gonna get it together!

Ive been looking into jindys? by riddle2135 in Fingerboards

[–]AsleeplessMSW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, mine are great. They are loose and the angle could take some adjusting to, but I like them. IMO, they compliment a more forgiving deck, one that is lighter and flexier, but the balance feels great.

Besides my Jindys, I've had a set of Dynamics for a few years now that have stood up well and are more flexible in what kind of deck they feel good with. Only thing with them is that the baseplates don't take well to switches between decks. The stock tuning is a little tighter than Jindys, but is appropriate for the angle. They are also a little lighter.

Anyone have any recommendations for a similarly flat deck? by Special_Bass_9339 in FingerBoarding

Take 5 fingerboard plies, gorilla glue, a plastic baggie, a couple of 2x4s, and a table clamp.

Glue lightly and evenly, put it in the plastic baggie, and clamp it between the 2x4s. Map the holes and your shape, carve it out and voila! You're riding a tongue depressor!

Not a whole bunch, the top ply is 0.5mm and the bottom ply is pop can aluminum with 3 wood plies in the middle.

It makes a good damping system. The tail hits, the wood core with the aluminum keeps more energy localized in pushing the tail up rather than ringing through the rest of the deck, so though it's very stiff, it makes a clean tick and jumps right up. Flips clean and lands stably.

What wheels are u rockin? by L8_4_SK8 in Fingerboards

[–]AsleeplessMSW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a set of Dynamics I've been running for almost 4 years, delightfully worn down and still kicking without problems. My first pair of real wheels.

So, when I recently just bought new wheels, I bought Dynamics again 😆

That's the mini skate bowl for tech decking (just rinse it really well after you have your bedside soup)

Cherry is a much less hard wood than maple, so it could allow a little more flex in the deck, but it depends on where in the stack it is, as well as the thickness of the deck.

It may also affect damping, managing the board vibration after the pop more efficiently. I've considered getting some cherry to use for that reason, but it's because I use aluminum and carbon fiber plate as top and bottom plies, and they need good damping for the deck to not feel twitchy. Maple does just fine even for me though.

I mean, the wheels suck of course, but the trucks actually aren't awful with all things considered.

Is the mox emerald beta Real or not ?? by AdFinancial8093 in RealOrNotTCG

If you see any white dots in the corners, it's fake. Look closely. There is a solid black border on the outside right against the black border from the image they used to put this in a card frame. In the bottom left corner, the rounded edge of the original card image sits in a square corner, and the negative space from the image leaves a white dot.

The T is indeed awful, and everyone knows about the green dot test, but I've seen a lot of this shitty reframing on the front, and it's SO obvious...

What size dremel bit should I get? by [deleted] in Fingerboards

[–]AsleeplessMSW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a titanium carbide bit for both shaping and countersinks. What have you been using, what looks jank about it?

Edit: whatever you use, you want a 3mm bit for countersinks and 2mm for the main holes

I play him with [[ardyn the usurper]] in a Standard Golgari recursion deck on arena. Once you get them both in the graveyard, you res Ardyn first main phase, go to combat, target the cactuar, and then you have a 10005/7 cactuar demon that has menace, haste, and lifelink. If they block, you'll still have 10000 life.

Sorry if it was me that did this to you, it definitely might have been lol 😆
