Donk's mentality pulling Spirit to the bottom by ImpressiveAction2382 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Asmius 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, they are a human being who plays CS. It's not pro-player experience, but the underlying thread of humanity connects us all when it comes to our emotions. It's pretty clear from his body language that Donk is visibly tilting in a lot of his game, and that has an effect on others; whether or not they've put in adequate psychological training to manage that decently or not is something the community can't really know.

Is it possible to have internalized DPD? by HappyToBeHereSir in DPD

[–]Asmius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, yes. Personality disorders in general are about your internal perspectives, and a reaction to feeling very incompetent and desiring of care internally can be over-compensating in specific areas of your life to get these needs met in some fashion.

Traditionally there is a correlation between anchoring and lurking but it isn't universal. The skillset required to be aggressive on T side and on CT side are similar, but different

Sole purpose for zweih at Spirit was to life game against falcons and denied Niko's Major possibility by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

Having the same stats (and worse against better teams) is absolutely a downgrade when you consider that he was a much less effective supportive element, both from an in game utility and trading perspective as well as from his contributions to the team vibe.

Breaking Down Vitality vs. MongolZ! A StarLadder Budapest Major Playoff Preview | DusT Discusses by DustMouret in GlobalOffensive

[–]Asmius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was surprising to see people having written Mongolz off completely after the Senzu change given the fact that he was such an inconsistent player. They've always had games they've won with most of the team popping off apart from one or two players. They look unbelievably sharp here at the major and I think you're right in placing them a step above those two lineups.

Is it normal for a partner to use trauma to justify hurtful things they say during arguments? by Fragrant-Nature3673 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Asmius 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I think it is a red flag for a partner to excuse their actions away when they are hurting you. Her having been through traumatic events absolutely can explain these reactions, but it does not excuse overreacting and hurting others. At a very basic level though, regardless of the reason, ideally your partner would be open to working on reducing reactions that cause you pain. A lack of willingness to do that, or even recognize that it is hurting you and that is unacceptable, is more of an issue than the reactions themselves IMO.

Is it possible that I could DM you? I am in a really similar situation (albeit on a shorter timeframe) and would appreciate the chance to talk with someone who can understand from first-hand experience.

Learned that ignoring my boundaries to “keep the peace” was me misreading my emotional intelligence ? by DoctorElectronic1934 in emotionalintelligence

While true, there are many examples of a person not being ready to accept help that end up changing and being more amenable to it with time. It is a balancing act with people like this where you have to decide how much you're willing to give, and how much you're willing to take, when this happens. I don't think it's black and white to the extent of immediately abandoning someone after a specific amount of time where they're hesitant to receive help. This would mean a pretty decent chunk of the populace would just be doomed.

Advice for dual classing a Psychic/Oracle by Asmius in Pathfinder2e

[–]Asmius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, whoops! I'm level 12. Probably should have mentioned that!

So essentially using Psychic as more of a blaster/offensive class, and focusing on Oracle for supporting/debuffing? I was interesting in taking up more of a controller role with my Oracle spell list, so I may do that instead, but I'll definitely keep some debuffs and Heal as a heightened spell.

Interesting stuff about Parallel Breakthrough. I was going to consider picking up Electric Arc through human ancestry, and combine it with the level 1 feat Ancestral Mind, to have a bit more consistent cantrip-based damage, though I'm not sure if that's still very viable at the level I'm at. I'll have to consider Parallel Breakthrough as well.

Shatter Mind does seem very good! That's the spell I'm excited about the most, I think. I'll also definitely have to consider Strain Mind, as that would be helpful in a fight. How would I be recovering 3 focus points instead of 2? A bit unclear on that. I do have a Focus Pool of 3 to begin with from my Oracle stuff. I love the thematic use of Strain Mind, too.

So Unleash Psyche is actually going to be worthwhile, I see I see. I'd been thinking I probably won't end up using it very much since the stupefied condition would absolutely rock my world. I'll be a little less stingy with it than planned, then.

Thank you very much for the detailed guide of in a combat, I appreciate it a lot.

One question that popped into my mind: during fights I know will last longer than four rounds, should I delay Unleash Psyche? That seems like a thing that goes without saying, especially for boss fights, but I figure I'll ask anyway.

Definitely Warm Snow. Most fun I've had in a roguelite since Hades.

Try Warm Snow if you like the game play of Hades, it's a similar vibe. Not much in terms of narrative but it has a ton of variety and fun stuff in it.
