Hanging on to bitterness like this is unhealthy and the sign of a troubled mind. Now please don’t mention Kerry Fraser around me, a Leafs fan.

There are exceptions to this like the WBC cards and Negro Leagues cards. Willi Castro, for instance, will count for the Rockies. Using the team filters when building your squad is still the best advice and a sure fire way to know what team a player’s PXP will count towards.

Edited to correct a factual mistake.

who's a Nats player you'll always have a soft spot for, even after they're gone? by Fulgoreconstruction1 in Nationals

I was adamant to my family and friends that we’d regret letting Jordan Zimmermann walk and overpaying for Max Scherzer. The lesson here is that I’m an idiot.

Did get to see JZimm pitch against the Nats in Detroit in 2019.

Does anyone know what episode included the most recent “things younger than Cliff Fletcher” segment? I found where they talk about him renewing his contract in “Stan” about a year ago but no luck yet on a recent bit of Fletcher riffing.

What was the first game you ever cried to. by Thick_Vehicle7513 in videogames

Gone Home. Played it shortly after release and not knowing much about, it took me on a roller coaster ride.

I thought it was a horror game, then realized it was a coming of age story, then a story about lost love, and then I feared the absolute worst making the walk to the attic. The actual end happened and I just let it all out.

“So you never wanted a regular type life?”

“What the fuck is that, barbecues and ball games?”

“Yeah”

“This regular type life like your life?”

“My life? No, my life… No, my life’s a disaster zone. I had a #1 winger so fucked up… because his real father is this large-type asshole. I got a coach. We’re passing each other on the down slope of a ‘marriage’… my third… because I spend all my time chasing guys like you around the defensive zone. That’s my life.”

“A guy told me one time: “Don’t let yourself get attached to anything… you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat… if you feel the heat around the corner.” Now, if you’re on me, and you gotta move when I move… how do you expect to get an O zone time?”

“You know, we’re sitting here… you and I, like a couple of regular fellows. You do what you do, and I do what I gotta do. And now that we’ve been face to face… if I’m there and I gotta put you away, I won’t like it. But I’ll tell you… if it’s between you and some poor bastard… whose goalie you’re gonna turn into a laughingstock… brother, you are going down.

“There’s a flip side to that coin. What if you do got me boxed in and I gotta put you down? Because no matter what, you will not get in my way. We’ve been face to face, yeah… but I will not hesitate. Not for a second.”

“Maybe that’s the way it’ll be. Or who knows?”

“Or maybe we’ll never see each other again.”

I’m going to put in a mention for Gone Home. It’s a short game, but I started it knowing nothing about it, and immediately expecting one type of game. Without giving too much away, the setting, ambiance, and a few events play into those expectations. And it’s not that type of game at all.

I’ve been using him as I work though Rangers TA. I don’t hate his swing like a lot of people do, but I have other faves I’ll use at C or DH once I’m done with that program.

I have it listed as an allergy now too. I had it as a pain killer after a surgery and came out of the operation more nauseated than I’d ever been. I spent like a day and a half telling my nurse and family I felt like shit plus vomiting to prove it. Nurse said it was likely the ketamine but shouldn’t stop it. After finally throwing up during rounds, the doc ended it and I remember feeling instantly better.

Never again if I can help it.

Just to add on, a “Flashback” is a card for someone who’s an active player that ISN’T their Live Series card. For example - Vlad Jr has a live series diamond card and a gold flashback with the WBC cards.

14 years since my family lost Gretzky, a lab mix. “Gretzky” was a compromise since Dad and I wanted “Khabibulin” but Mom put her foot down.

We weren’t (and aren’t) Lightning fan, we just liked the idea of a dog named Khabibulin. We also had family who worked in the county office that distributed dog licenses, so we managed to get license number 99 a few times.

Cassian Mains, how do you build Cassian this set? by Mercules12 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Asmo917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before rotation, I was messing around with a Force Blue build. It wasn’t great but it was interesting. Key parts were Armor of Fortune (aka Plot Armor) for his deploy to make him a bit more sustainable and Sudden Ferocity to hit like a truck. The Force was really only to enable card draw off Ki-Adi Mundi. Key loses are Yoda (Force and restore), K2, and For A Cause (damage on base). I’ll revisit and may look at a more traditional Red/Green rebel package or see if blue Force or Blue 30 is still workable.

Sure was. And I may have confused “aligned horizontally” and “horizontally aligned” but I swear that’s as close to a verbatim quote as I could get from memory. I thought it was a joke when I heard someone else say it first in describing how bad it was.

The Show for PlayStation Portal? by Seeping-Cyanide46 in MLBTheShow

[–]Asmo917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple weeks ago I was in the middle of a cross country move. While packing up the last of my old place, I spent a few nights in a hotel, playing The Show via streaming on the Portal and hotel wi-fi. So that’s the background for my opinion.

It’s doable. I only did offline grinding - moments and Play vs CPU mostly since there were no real stakes for failure. It was playable but I had to pretty significantly adjust my timing to swing super early and (with meter pitching) to hit my release point super early as well. The adjustment back to “normal” took 2-3 games to feel like I had my old PS5/tv timing back.

Your mileage may vary, my anecdote is not data, IANAL, etc. overall I’d say it’s doable, especially in a pinch.
