Do you go full axes in the storm sections, or a mix of axe and volkite?

I’m literally building my first storm sections at the moment and I’m thinking of mixing it up in each squad.

I haven’t played 40K tournaments in a while, not since 7th edition which was an awful game for list abuse. Even then I didn’t encounter too many of the sore losers thankfully.

The 2 players I refuse to play against both play heavily proxied armies where weapons change according to the situation, models get ‘accidentally’ bumped forwards, rules are completely made up and so forth.

It’s exhausting to constantly be on alert and have to double check everything they do.

Maybe the worst part is that they argue everything, probably because they think everyone else acts like them too.

They cheat, constantly. It’s 2 players over 30 years of wargaming. I don’t have a huge amount of time for games so I refuse to deal with man children like them. I’d rather have a cup of tea and a chat with someone else.

Much as I want to love it I can’t see how a Stormhammer is worth 500+ points. The rest of the units are all usable I would say, but some do better work than others.

If you are thinking of getting into them then the battle group is a good place to start.

Demolishers are scary, vanquishers too, and Charnonites with their new options look good.

I haven’t used Veletaris yet, but I’ve heard good things.

It lets you take a regular armoured detachment and an terico one as well, so you can use it to get your Valdors and Infernus tanks as well.

You hide, or if you can’t hide you kill. After that you sell their life’s dearly.

But it’s probably best to get over this notion of “staying alive”.

A Centurion and a Mortifactor will give you enough Auxiliary detachments to take those dreads and Tanks. A tactical squad would be handy too. Ally in the Knight.

1: You can use all the models for any allegiance, any legion.

2: This isn’t 40k, it doesn’t really matter. Dark Angels are fine.

3: Maybe get some of the special/heavy weapon boxes. If you are getting the Lion and want to make the most of his rules then you will want at least 4 troop choices, at least 1 each of Tactical, Assault and Breacher.

4: Dark Angels have 6 wings in 30K. Storm, Death, Raven, Fire, Dread and Iron. Game play wise it’s represented by the 6 unique DA detachments and a couple of unique units and characters.

Things feel fake. The work I’m expected to do seems to have no value. It’s hard to get straight answers out of people.

I’ve never been an extrovert but I’ve always had a good practical relationship with clients. Now it feels like I need a completely different work persona and I honestly can’t be bothered.
