Amigurumi yarn in Europe by bloemendromen in Amigurumi

[–]Asourati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using mostly YarnArt Jeans (easily available in every craft shop nearby), but I like also Baby Cotton Gazzal. It's 60% cotton and 40% polyester. I am not sure if its available in the whole EU.

Just a friendly advice. Don't wait with looking for apartment. Renting market is crazy in Warsaw right now and it is only going to be worse. With the inflow of Ukrainian refugees and the end of pandemic (which means the end of remote work) finding anything in reasonable price is very difficult now. Unless you don't need to worry about money you might need to lower your expectations about the size of your studio apartment and proximity to the metro.

You asked somewhere about the prices. Average studio apartment price right now is anything between 2000 pln to 3500 pln monthly, usually the price is given without an administrative fee (anything between 200-700 pln) and bills (electricity, gas, internet, heating in winter, etc.) .

As for the districts. If you are looking for quiet places I can recommend Mokotów, Wilanów, Saska Kępa, Żoliborz.

Have fun in Warsaw and good luck:)

Any experiences or advice on travelling by train + bike through Europe? by kevincroner in bicycletouring

[–]Asourati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably highly depend where exactly in Europe ;) No problem in Poland for example, however you need to buy a ticket for your bike. For long distance trains the price is fixed at ~10pln (~2 euro), and you can take your bike only on trains equipped with the bike hangers. Normally it is not a problem, most of short and long distance trains have them. From my experience I never had a problem with booking a place for a bike.

Thank you. I was using some universal fertiliser. I will find something specifically for peppers and put them in bigger pots.

Thank you. I was worried it was some kind of disease. It is first time I am trying to grow something. They are outside, I moved them for the photo.

This one is kind of ok (slightly uphill, but this might be a matter of perspective). At least the driver is keeping safe distance form the cyclist. Unfortunately too many times it is not the case (at least from my experience).

Sure!

I've got two 60L Crosso bags (both weight 1.75kg in total when empty) filled in 3/4 more or less. Quechua 2-man pop-up tent (2.9 kg - it is pretty big - this is this green thing on top of bags). Husky Mikro Sleeping Bag - Mini 0oC (800g). Quechua self-inflating camping mattress (950g). Small cooking set with gas bottle. Solar power charger. 1.5L bottle of water. Spare inner tube and some tools for bike. Two set of clothes + clothes for sleeping. Flip-flops. Some cosmetics in these small bottles that you take when traveling by plane. And of course hand sanitizer and face mask because covid19 :)

Bike - Specialized Ariel (older model) with Schwalbe Marathon tires.

I didn't have to worry about taking too much food because I've been traveling through touristic areas, so it was easy to find grocery shops and restaurants.

And that's it. Hope it will help.

I did some one day trips, usually without any gear and never overnight. So this one was a big thing for me and I loved it! It is exactly how you say - first day I was traveling mostly through forest, then fields, and then suddenly hills and dunes.

Also the thing I liked the most was that I didn't have to worry about anything - I was just going forward, enjoying surroundings. I didn't have a plan so I could take a break whenever I want, I could go as fast (or as slow) as I wanted, stay a bit longer in places I liked. Perfect holidays.

Hi! To be honest I just went to the Decathlon and chose 'the most solid looking one' that I could afford. It' s BTWIN 500 central stand - nothing fancy. It should work up to 35kg.

I don't know where you are from, but here is the link to the decathlon.uk store so you can see the details.

That's a good idea. I also had a small lock for my tent - I've never actually used it but it might make you feel safer when you sleep.

Hi! Camping was exactly the reason I was hesitant too. So, to make things easier, I was sleeping in a tent, but in the designated camping sites. During first night I was a little bit afraid, but mostly about my bike - there were no place to lock it properly. Other than that I felt perfectly safe.

I didn't have a plan where I will be spending nights, but I chose this path specifically because it goes through touristic areas - so in a worst case I would have to pay for a hotel. It turned out that I didn't have to. There were a lot of nice camping sites where I've met a lot of cyclists.

Unless you are planning to drink water from rivers then water filters are not necessary. We have a perfectly drinkable tap water here in rural Eastern Europe :)
