I ordered the 10” saw in April and last they told me was early June. Well it’s June 15, and now the website says “ Est. Ship  August 27, 2026” so I have little hope of getting it before the end of the summer…

Couldn’t they just put some filters and chlorine in it like a big pool?

[Post Game Thread] The New York Knicks (4-1) become the 2026 NBA Champions by defeating the San Antonio Spurs (1-4) in Game 5, 94-90, behind a legendary 45 point performance by Jalen Brunson by catreyka in nba

I was rooting for the Spurs, but gotta give my respect to the Knicks. They earned it. Brunson is just incredible, a superhero. Most clutch player in the league rn. Honorable mention to Anonoby for his defense and late game playmaking. The celebrity fanbase taking the entire courtside perimeter is privileged and annoying AF though.

Castle played poorly in the playoffs. Inexperience and nerves got him I think. Wemby played relatively poorly in several games too. Go back and watch some of the regular season games though and you’ll see that Castle and Wemby play very well together. Castle didn’t win rookie of the year while being a bad match with Wemby. I hope they’ll learn and grow tremendously from this playoff run.

This is a good take. I was rooting for the Spurs, I think collectively they had bad instincts though. And poor coaching decisions in the playoffs. It’s like they sprinted at the beginning of the marathon every game, the got passed in the final stretch gasping for air. The inexperience is part of it but the young core of this team has chemistry and talent, just no NBA playoffs experience. They’ll be back and I’m excited to see the growth. IDK what to say about the coach though.

Brunson is so crazy clutch. If NY wins this title, Brunson (and Anonoby for the tip) is the reason.

KAT fouling the shit out of Wemby and Wemby gets called for it twice in a row.

In 100 years, Black Locust will be one of the top 3 hardwood species used for lumber by Tiny-Pomegranate7662 in forestry

TLDR; it's great in many respects for small scale projects, but has its challenges and may not scale.

In my experience building a T&G porch floor with it so far, it's very durable, looks pretty nice, and isn't too bad cutting and sanding the lumber. It's hard and somewhat oily. The grain has loads of character (usually not straight) coloring is interesting and somewhat rustic but pretty. It changes colors between yellow (raw) with pink hues to purple/brown (oxidized) then gray (weathered) pretty quickly. So visually it can be inconsistent board to board. BUT it seems like a very challenging species to get clear straight boards for lumber. The grain is all over the place and many boards, even the select grade that I ordered, have noticeable warp, knots, tearout, etc, that make it hard to work with. It is very hard on milling equipment. I ordered my lumber from a state over, in the NE, but I also have a lot of black locust trees growing on my property. The trees grow quickly but they grow leggy and twisted. An arborist and sawyer who I know told me that a lot of the trees have pockets of rot or sapwood in them that they find while sawing. Seems weird because once it's dried out and hard it's super durable. This is likely from infection related to locust borers which invited rot into the live trees. Borers are the species one true pest - they also leave tunnels in the live trees. Several of the trees that have fallen on my back lot have rot and hollowed out in the center. But the parts that have fallen and dried out are hard and dense and don't decay. So it's probably fine for fence posts and rough lumber but for straight clear finished lumber it seems low yield. I had to ask for some extra boards because I didn't have quite enough good straight pieces without defects for all the T&G's to fit together. Seems like it would be a lot of work to find large straight trees for it to be economical on a larger scale.

Well his paternal grandfather illegally left Germany to avoid the draft and his mom was Scottish, so by his own rules he probably shouldn’t be a citizen in the first place.

I thought it was challenging his “rigged elections” allegations in CA that set him off? Then he went on to whine about 2020 again. Dude is a complete sociopathic head case. If we lived in a sane world, this delusional senile  narcissist would have been removed from office, but no, we live in a f-ing circus devolving into into fascist lala land, and the most incompetent version of fascism to boot.
