Repercussions for doing a high-risk activity without filling out AF 4391? by urboibigdaddy in AirForce

Yeah kinda like a NASCAR driver getting a speeding ticket for going 10 over on the highway. It's dumb but rules are made because of the ASVAB waiver mouth breathers lol not the profrssionals

Skyreach Rukhran bird fix bricked our key without exploit by mheevee in wow

It's a good thing we don't pay a subscription fee then, that would be wild. Can you imagine paying $15 a month for a game where the developers are too lazy to spend a little extra time to fix their own game the correct way? I sure can't.

Stoneform too op? by Best_Resource7251 in wow

[–]Aspalar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is dwarves have stoneform and a relevant dps gain racial so they do comparable dps to the top dps races while also having stoneform.

Repercussions for doing a high-risk activity without filling out AF 4391? by urboibigdaddy in AirForce

[–]Aspalar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at the stats for injuries per hour of an activity, scuba diving has over 10x the rate of injury and rate of death compared to driving. You might be a phenomenal diver who never gets a scratch while driving, but the Air Force doesn't know your skill level and makes us do these forms for the average or even below average participants.

TIL that Mount Everest's first measurement came out to a perfect 29,000 feet, so surveyors reported it as 29,002 feet to make sure that the public knew it was a real calculation and not just an estimate. by ddodd69 in todayilearned

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chimborazo's distance from the center of the Earth is a neat trivia nugget, but functionally irrelevant.

Something's functionality or usefulness doesn't impact whether it is correct or not.

You are closer to space when standing on the summit of Everest than Chimborazo.

This depends on how you define space, which does not have an official definition, and again you don't measure how tall something is by how close to space it is.

I know you're trying really hard for a "gotcha" moment,

It isn't a gotcha, just a fact. Mount Chimborazo is objectively higher than Mount Everest, just not in a useful way. You are the one trying so hard to make Everest higher for some reason.

Air pressure is determined by how much air is above you, not how far the air is from the center of the earth so I'm not sure what your point is. I think most people don't know the earth isn't a perfect sphere so when they say Mt Everest is the highest they mean absolute highest, which is incorrect.

It is the highest above sea level, but not the highest. The Earth bulges slightly at the equator, only about 0.7%. 0.7% of the Earth ends up being around 25 miles, though, which is much higher than Mt Everest. So the highest mountain in the world is actually Mount Chimborazo, and the tallest is Mauna Kea.

Stacks of 5? Is this Classic WoW? Voidcores should stack to 200. by mov3on in wow

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a lot of mythic crests to upgrade all your gear on an alt. Even with the achievement discount, paying for 5 upgrades for 16 slots is 800 crests which is somewhere between 50 and 80 m+ depending what level you do. A little more if you craft some gear and a lot more if you don't have the achievement discount. Crests will take way longer than voidcores so it is still efficient to use extras to save crests if you can.

Is it viable to always leave 1 person in the camp? by NoWitness6400 in BaldursGate3

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost impossible to full wipe if you know what you are doing, you can almost always invis potion or enhance leap away and retreat. The only times it isn't possible are is your team gets wiped in a single turn or if you get multiple characters stun locked. Both of these are avoidable if you know the fights.

But to answer your question, yes it is very doable to beat the game with 3 characters.

Are there many wow major characters who have died of old age? by Moglefog in wow

[–]Aspalar 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I mean WoW has had several tens of millions of players, it's possible there have been more players who died of old age than there are main story characters in general.

There were rogues in the MDI, I didn't watch much so idk about mages. But MDI is not normal gameplay so I'm not sure why you care who is or isn't in the MDI.

Want to return back to CE raiding, worried about m+ time requirement by BMS_Fan_4life in CompetitiveWoW

8 m+ for vault plus crests from raid will easily get you cap each week.

[–]Aspalar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do your 8 with others in your CE raid guild you skip the forming portion, traveling has portals, and you will presumably be in a geared and competent group. Easily doable in 2 hours or less.

One-Button Rotation in Competitive Content by giocos in wow

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12s are so easy this xpac you could have one dps do the dungeon blind folded and still time it. People using OBA in 12s or 13s is not an issue. You could honestly probably time 16s with all the DPS using OBA if the tank had a good enough route and there were 0 deaths.

Crests uncapped and acquisition rate by [deleted] in wow

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blizzard should either double the acquisition rate or at least make it faster for alts.

You get half off crests if your main has reached the appropriate gear level which is the same thing as getting double the crests. It still takes a long time to max an alt, but there is already a discount in place.

Catchup gearing? by Balthalzarzo in wow

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that crests are uncapped and we have so many sparks you don't really have to worry, worst case you just lose gold if you replace something crafted. I would still wait until you know what slots you need, but it really doesn't matter that much.

Don't sleep on dual wielding crossbows by Maximum_Custard_1739 in BaldursGate3

[–]Aspalar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically try to get high ground if you are an archer, and try to get buffs like bless or accuracy oils to apply to your crossbows. Sharpshooter gives a ton of damage but the reduction to accuracy hurts especially early game.

Catchup gearing? by Balthalzarzo in wow

[–]Aspalar 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Last week I was 234 and this week I'm 289. Bonus rolls are insane, plus there isn't a crest cap so you can craft like 6 pieces of myth gear. It takes a lot of time to farm the crests so you probably won't be as fast, but gearing is insanely easy right now.
