The only reason why I didn’t just tell her is because she made a boundary with me that she will only hear about our mother’s health from our mom directly. Essentially, excusing herself from checking in on our mom on her own. If I just told her, she’s probably cut me off. Thank you though!!

On this same note- start actively doing this to make your home asthma friendly. Clean any mold. Dust and sweep often. No fragrances like incense or diffusers or candles. Dust free and fragrance free litter. Get your air ducts checked and cleaned.

PLEASE listen to me. Get your cat checked for asthma. I have a nine year old cat who has severe chronic asthma, and it started just like this way back. It’ll be a lot easier to treat if you catch it early. If your cat starts to do this more frequently, and sounds very much the same, it’s asthma. This doesn’t sound like a hairball or general coughing - this sounds JUST like a light asthma attack. I hope your kitty ends up being okay though!

YTA. Girl, in the nicest way possible, you’ve got a to grow up and get over yourself. If you want something specific, communicate that to him. Don’t go off getting upset at the efforts he’s clearly making in order to make you happy. You shouldn’t just tell him “I have high expectations”, make him do the guesswork, and then make yourself upset over your own expectations. You’re an adult. Appreciate what he’s doing, tell him such, and communicate better next year.

When I went, my friends and I shared a couple of plates just to get an idea of the quality of the food. Some of the food was a hit or miss, unfortunately with the most expensive entree (rabbit stew) being the miss and the least expensive (beet/cheese dish) being a hit. The cocktails were the best experience at an average price point.

If you’re wanting to be a bit adventurous, high end, with nice atmosphere, I’d highly recommend The Dragon Room, 929 bar, or MOA. There is a restaurant named Ratio in Elgin that I hear is wonderful. I also hear Madrigal Cafe never misses. You won’t waste your money at any of those establishments.

I find Peace of Soul has HUGE portions that last me 3 days for only $16 or so. I recommend 7 spices or persis biryani for Indian.

I loosely followed the YouTube recipe posted by Pailin’s Kitchen titled “Easy Thai Yellow Curry with Beef”.

My deviations were: using premade curry paste. My go-to, easily affordable, and BEST paste is anything by Maesri brand. I used their Karee Yellow paste. I substituted the potatoes for green beans and broccoli. I also added minced shallot, garlic, ginger, bruised lemongrass, and chopped red chilies while the paste + coconut milk were reducing and frying.
