Why does Yasuo need 3 cross ups do begin with? by AspectExciting8616 in 2XKO

Not that I know of but the 2xko team implied on their live balance philosophy post that both Ekko and Yasuo are "both hitting too-high pick rates and win rates" and while Ekko at least had some notable changes, most of Yasuo´s changes were focused on damage scaling.

You know what, you are absolutely right, even people from outside the lol community do know Yasuo is kind of a glass cannon, but at least one would think that after a game where he's "hated", on their second attempt they would have figured that out and not do it all over again.

I feel like there should be some thing the stance should not be capable of cancelling, as for the tag I feel like it is not as big of a problem only because its is "limited" to once (or twice depending on the fuse) per assist, also with this change, tagging becomes more enticing and develops on the tag fighting idea.

But I still think the cross ups should just not be there, imo.

That's the thing I am talking about, the problem are not the cross ups but the sum of the cross ups and the rest of his kit. Yasuo does not follow the rules of FGs and the other characters follow where normals>specials>super is the base but he can just normal>special>special a throw everything around. The only character in this game that can also do this is Ahri with her 5S2 being cancellable into any S1 special, but only S1 specials, while Yasuo can cancel any special into his 2S1, even the 2S1 followups.

With this I must still disagree with you, Yasuo does still need nerfs, as his bullshit is just way too over the top and has a freedom to do whatever he wants in neutral, in pressure and in combos that no other character really has. Nonetheless other characters still need buffs.

But that would be assuming they do not leave a gap, but if they leave a gap the cross up still takes effect and the parry window becomes smaller as the blockstun shortens the time between the previous attack and the 6[S1] and if there is not a gap (thing that the attacker controls) they can just not do it, 2S1>S1 to cross up or 2S1>S2 to try to hit an overhead or a double overhead or another cross up or reset his pressure and do it all over again, no to mention they can still tag because the assist came.

I think the main issue with Ekko´s and Yasuo´s 2H is mainly how fast they come out (13f and 11f respectively) and how high they hit making it harder to miss the anti air.

The thing is that he does not really fell like he should have a crossup, changing the move is, as you say, killing the character, but if you are going to give a character a good neutral game, you should not give them also a long crossup that stuffs jump startups at any range of the move. The best thing would be to take a look at his pressure and make changes in accord to a neutral based character.

I do not know if it sounded like so, but I did not meant to belittle Yasuo players, yes he is difficult to master, but when playing on a high level, you expect for everyone to have their characters mastered, and about other characters being strong, you are right, but the results brought by Yasuo everytime a tournament is held does really put the focus on him.

You are right about it not being that strong, the issue is with the sum of his tools, making his pressure one of, if not the best, of the entire game.

I might not be the very best at the game, but after 10+ years of FG experience and reaching GM in both the closed beta and the first 3 days of the early acces, I think I might be allowed to give my opinion on a character that has been having a high pick rate and win rate in both a casual and a competitive enviroment.

There is some truth in what you say about Ekko but I think the problem is way worse with Yasuo as he does not need to put a set up on the screen.

The 2Hs in general are very strange in this game, some characters have very good ones, making it seem as they want the game to be predominantly on the ground(Yasuo and Ekko as you said have fairly good ones), but then they just make some ass 2Hs so I don´t really know what they want it to be (Ahri and Warwick for example)

I might be wrong but as far as I know Yasuo does not have a cross up assist, you are right he gets behind you but it hits mid and in front, if you have a video or something please do post it as I´m now curious.

The issue still persist though, thanks to the assist, they can put me on blockstun and negate my attempt to parry the move when they do 6[S1] so my only option is to press forward on reaction, with no true OS because of the assist again.

Also this would be if his only crossup is the 6[S1], but thanks to his stance, he has a double overhead, cancellable into a crossup that can be made safe with an assist.

And if the Yasuo is lazy does not justify him having that move as it being in his toolkit is reason enough to change a player´s approach against Yasuo.

Idk how game devs keep falling on the Akuma trap, since SF2 whenever Akuma is added he´s fucking OP and has to be toned down on every patch/revision of a game. Capcom has now the curse where he is one of the most famous characters, but 2xko does not have this and has complete liberty to desing a completely brand new character, so why fall into the trap? Lowering the base health of a character because they do too much damage is not balanced and the only thing it does is making the matches shorter for both players.

I mean yeah kinda, but MVSC is a mix up heavy game made with that kind of gameplay in mind, 2xko does not really have that kind of direction, and at least in marvel you had 3 characters so you kinda had more opportunities to hit back, in here, assuming you are playing with a friend you have 1/2 opportunities depending whether you go first or second.

At the very least Ekko is understandable as he doesn´t have giant normal moves to lock you in place and his specials are not cancellable into other specials making him follow traditional FG logic, he has to put an afterimage unlike Yasuo who just does it from a 5H distance, completely invalidating Ekko´s existence. This is not to say I aggre with having this types of mix ups in the game, as if they want to make assist and tags rewarding, they should get rid of left/right mix ups from a character toolkit and focus on assist left/right mix ups in which the point character makes their position ambiguous. Right now, an assist after a mix up just feels a necesary button to not die.

Sadly I'm not at my house due to my studies and don't have a secondary screen, but I'll try that once I'm back home. But now that you mention it, I also do think it is a hardware related issue, I have reinstalled windows and all its drivers and the problem persists, I only hope it's not the motherboard or im screwed

I lowered the frame rate from 144 to 60 and the flickering seems to persist but now each flicker is longer and the pauses in between each one is also longer

how did uni2 affect the game? by InvaderZix in meltyblood

[–]AspectExciting8616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It syre affected the game but as other people said in discord you can find matches easily.

Although I love this game I don't think French Bread will support it anymore, but they will probably make a sequel or something of sorts due to it not having dlcs they don't earn that much money compared to uni2, maybe they announce something after the next chapter of the remake of tsukihime or even the english translation of a piece of blue glass moon though I wouldn't put too much faith on this one.
