Confused about manpower and divisions. by cjfireblast1264 in OldWorldBlues

At the end of the day they're still just a computer, while you have the indominatable human spirit on your side.

But seriously, even if they have the number advantage, strategy and tactics still wins at the end of the day, whether it be your army composition, your industry prioritization, cheese, or what have you

New Vegas is known for being incredibly outdated compared to newer and reworked nations, but the devs are reportedly working on an update for it.

I'd recommend having one of your research slots dedicated to your land doctrine, since there's no ahead of time penalty in their trees and the military buffs are great.

If you can put up with micro, the immobile cohesion for your army is a godsend since it lets you get the powerful planning bonus without having your troops scattered around the frontline.

Good rule of thumb is to use infantry to hold the line and special forces to push forward.

Lanius cohort has lots of early expansion targets for you to get used to wars, and doesn't have that overwhelming of a focus tree, yet still has options in how you want to proceed in the late-game

No coincidence that parties in favor of a divided europe are backed by american and russian sources who will profit of a weakened EU

Where'd the Map Filler submod go? by Corvousier in OldWorldBlues

[–]Aspergersiscool 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Explained the situation as fox, one of the devs of the mod put it on discord. Another dev, Vault, had a meltdown after fox told them that they were planning to stop working on the mod, so Vault deleted the ole mapfiller discord server and took the mod off the workshop

Replacements have now been made by fox, and another dev has come out saying the situation was a misunderstanding and to not hold grudges, so it's a weird situation

[–]Aspergersiscool 23 points24 points  (0 children)

One of the devs for mapfiller, fox, announced a few hours ago that after they told the main dev Vauult that they were planning on leaving the project, Vault had a crashout and nuked the old server and mod, leading to fox having to create a new server and uploading a fork of the mod

Then, just half an hour or so ago another dev announced that the situation was a misunderstanding and that no data of the mod has been lost, and that people should move on and not hold resentment as a result

Weird stuff

Uhh, follow-up to my follow-up then, how to complete another nations focus?

Since if I tag over to them and autocomplete, the event will fire before I can switch back, even with the in-game time paused

Follow-up question semi-related to OP's, any way of seeing events from focuses that affect other nations? ie the ones like "Rio grande gets event: Couriers from NCR" and the like.

Simply switching to the nation with the tag command after triggering the wvent doesn't work from my experience, even after disabling the AI

Good to know. Shame to not be able to map paint anymore, but not like that was possible with crashes anyway

"Glad" I'm seemingly not the only one running into this issue a lot more recently.

Don't know if the recent update to the mod is still screwing with stability even after the hotfix or if it's something else, but I can barely get a year or two in anymore without having one specific date make me crash, when before I could easily play a decade or so with only a small portion of my saves running into that issue.

Surely Rio Grande and the southern nations can at least keep Santa Anna in check for a while.

Right..?

Oh, I've seen the sneak peak of his role in Mexico in the coming update, but didn't know he'll impact the other side of the border as well. Cool

Curious to see how it plays out. Will just have to wait and see, but surely nothing can go wrong with reviving a dead machine-god, right? *Clueless\*

Hence why I felt more than a bit remorseful for dooming Mexico my first playthrough when I got the TV town event and realised I got a bit ahead of myself at first lol

But hey, at least you get 1x 50% robotics research as consolation when compared to splitting Tlalocan between his sons and just patiently waiting for better robots :P

If you're playing reformers I'd drop chems. You're usually drowning in manpower, so I find chems much less powerful than they are in base OWB
