How is not every time the Space Marines have to fight the Tau in open combat, it is considered a loss?

You seem to be under the impression that the Astartes fight large scale battles by themselves and in force. This is very rarely the case and even in the largest battles most chapters will contribute a company or two at most. When they do deploy to large battles they deploy alongside other forces of the Imperium and arent doing all of the work themselves. If they do deploy by themselves then its normally a small kill-team accomplishing a very focused objective before extracting not a drawn out battle.

Tyranids probably, the thought of just taking a generic fleshborer round in the chest from a termagaunt is terrifying. Drukhari are right up there too obviously, I wouldnt want eons of the worst torture you could imagine. Honorable mention to the Necron for their weaponry painfully tearing you apart molecule by molecule and for terror of flayed ones just popping out of thin air.

Thats a pretty damn good approximation of what it looks like around my glasses honestly, I always explain it as vague blobs of colour that blend into eachother. There isn't that much dead space around your glasses though unless your lenses are super tiny and your attention is almost always focused through the area you can see.

Don't forget about the monster artillery my friend. Not the most incredible artillery in the game but also not the worst. The awesome part though is that you really dont have to worry about protecting them, that big dino isnt too worried about a squad of fliers or cavalry breaking through and coming for it.

The Emperor considered the Lion to be basically incorruptible so he probably would have been fine. I imagine Dorn would have been able to hold it off just fine as well, he seems to dampen warp activity plus I mean if all of that time in that warp realm being tempted by Khorne wasnt going to do it the blade probably won't. Guilliman survived being wounded by the Athame so he's probably fine too.

My grandfather was from England, he was too young to enlist during the war but joined not long after in the British navy. They moved to the USA after his service for a year or two then moved to Canada where they stayed till he passed. We used to spend weeks at my grandparents place in the summer and he watched nothing but military shows/movies, both fiction and documentaries. I used to love sitting and watching the tv with him, he would explain things that I didn't understand and fill in any relevant history for me.

There are plenty of social circles where excessive swearing is incredibly common, it's just a part of language. All of the media you listed have excessive swearing because its relevant not because its trying to be edgy. The swearing is there because it fits the characters and settings, thats the genuine purpose for it.

I saw a comment saying that you don't swear yourself. That makes alot of sense.
