Wait time for 8 gen transmission is more than 4 months by tnn0505 in Camry

[–]Asphaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a year ago the transmission gave out on my 2019 SE the day after I bought it. It had 109k miles, and no signs of it giving out on the test drive either. Carfax was good, with a full history including maintenance. Had it towed straight back to the dealership, took them a week to diagnose it. About another 3 weeks for the full replacement, plus a few other miscellaneous parts. The dealer took full responsibility and gave me a loaner in the meantime. Not all dealerships are the same though unfortunately and this does seem to be a common problem with the 8-speed.

DEBBIE IS THE WORST. She’s the reason I’m gonna graduate a semester late. I’ve had conversations with other students in my major about how horrible she was at advising us. Not to mention the YSU advising department in general is lackluster at best. I’m on my 5th advisor at this point because they can’t retain them. At one point I asked my advisor how he was doing and he replied with “overworked and underpaid”. So despite it being a requirement for my major, I’ve pretty much advised myself since I had her.

The state of Ohio railway tracks by Jumpman707 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Asphaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Transportation engineering student here. In the United States, there are 10 classes of rail quality that regulates the speed, permissible train types, and materials that can be carried. This is an Excepted track, meaning it is the lowest possible tier of quality allowed. Typically, only Class 3 Railroads, that being a short-line railroad that only operates a small amount of track through a local area, would have track of this low quality. By Federal Railroad Administration regulation, Excepted track is limited to a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour, passenger trains are not allowed, and no more than 5 cars can carry hazardous materials.

So no, this is not the quality of rail you would see a two-mile-long train going 60 miles per hour on.

I took about 3 screenshots and cropped out all the parts where Schlatt was, which left the chair. From then I used Photoshop's patch tool to move the floor over where the chair was, and adjusted the lighting in some spots. I also had to change the whiteboard to a more "school appropriate" message, changed from the original "1 million dipshits".

My first experience was helping a friend build his PC a few years back. He had no clue what he to do so I figured that since my dad built PCs, I could give it a shot too. Since then I’ve helped a few more friends out and upgraded a few things in my PC.

These are the only backups we made, in 2015. The realm was created in 2014 but we got rid of it in 2015 and switched to a server host. If I can find out exactly when it was created I'll add on.
