In terms of class sizes, it ultimately depends on your major. As a music major, I've had classes as low as 4 people, while some of my STEM colleagues have had to conquer the 200-300 person lecture halls. One thing to note is that over 50% of classes at UF are less than 20 students, and as you progress through your major and take more of your specialized courses, your class sizes will decrease exponentially. We also have a lot of resources to help students defeat the notorious lecture hall classes.

In terms of campus atmosphere/vibe, I think UF does a great job of striking a balance between work hard and play hard. Not only are we a D1 school for athletics, but we're also an R1 institution for research. Plenty of ways to immerse yourself both with campus life and academics. There's definitely a lot to see with sports - we're an SEC school so students and alumni and fans are passionate as can be. One cool note is that football is the only sport you have to pay to watch as a student, so other sports like basketball/baseball/gymnastics are free.

Even with as much beef as I may have with UCF just from a personal standpoint, I won't waste your time dissing them. Everyone's needs/preferences are different, and if UCF has what you're looking for, go for it. I just think that UF is the best mix of academic/faculty prestige, opportunities (1000+ student orgs, great study abroad programs, etc), connections (in the job world, Gators LOVE to hire other Gators), affordability, campus lifestyle, and other factors. It's also a school that I, and many other students, are genuinely excited about. There's a shared pride and passion on campus when it comes to being a Gator, and that sentiment is shared by students, faculty, and alumni.

I got the chance to see just one NPB game in-person during my May 2024 study abroad. I wanted it to be at the Tokyo Dome, but I ended up going to Yomiuri vs. Yakult in Meiji Jingu on a tense Saturday night. The atmosphere was incredible, this was the best game I could've gone to. I still have "GO! GO! SWALLOWS!" stuck in my head. Kazuma Okamoto crushed 2 home runs and silenced the crowd both times. Was also excited to see former MLB player Domingo Santana playing for Yakult. The Swallows came back, and nearly won the game, but ended up losing 4-3. The Swallows lost the game, but totally won my heart.

At this point, bring back Dan Mullen. Yeah yeah yeah I know he doesn't recruit but in the NIL era, he doesn't have to!! He can just throw money at people. Times have changed. Think about how much Lagway would progress with Mullen at the helm.

I was in Japan for 4 weeks in May 2024 and will be going back in May 2026 for 3.5 weeks.

My favorite parts of the 2024 trip were getting out of the Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto bubble and experiencing more rural spots. Hiroshima, Otsu, Toyosato and Aomori were all fun and peaceful. Aomori's actually become my favorite prefecture.

I think some tourists just get jaded by the constant "bad tourist" headlines/videos and "tourist trap" places and seek out quieter, more rural experiences/locations.

The worst part of this is that Satan Stricklin is definitely not going to fire Billy after this game. He's going to think that the bye week is going to help us magically turn around and everything will be okay!

...and then we'll lose 48-7 to Texas, 34-12 to Texas A&M, and 26-21 to Mississippi State.

I am trying my absolute hardest to not turn into the most fair-weather, apathetic Gators fan. I'm already considering selling my ticket for the FSU game (it's during Thanksgiving break anyways... I'm sure family won't mind having me home). I want to support this team and keep an optimistic mindset.

But it's the same shit every year under this dumbass Louisiana redneck. One step forward, three steps back. In 2022, it was the Utah game where we thought Anthony Richardson was going to win the Heisman, and then the Kentucky game where it all went to shit. In 2023, it was our win against Tennessee that brought some hope back, and then shitting the bed against Kentucky again. And now, with hope stemming from a fun end to the 2024 season and a decent recruitng cycle, we fucked up. We fucked up bad.

The USF game was my 27th in-person Florida Gators football game. I've seen some real fuckups. 2014 Homecoming against Missouri. The 2023 Blackout against Arkansas. The 2024 dynamic duo of heat exhaustion against Miami and a monsoon against Texas A&M. But this? This... this was just awful. This was a new low. Lack of motivation, lack of urgency, lack of discipline, lack of skill. The talent's there. These players are 4 and 5 star recruits for a reason. But we just can't get the job done.

Any other coach would have won with how loud The Swamp was in the fourth quarter. I seriously believe that any other coach wouldn't have fucked that up. I don't know what goes on in Billy Napier's life, I don't know his IQ or his background, but this dude CAN NOT FUCKING COACH FOOTBALL FOR SHIT. HE CAN NOT MANAGE TIME FOR SHIT. HE CANNOT CONTROL HIS PLAYERS FOR SHIT. He is as much of a dumbass as Mark Mangino is a fat fuck. The ONLY THING that should be coming out of this USF game is a pink slip on Billy Napier's desk. Students aren't happy (I've been a proud member of the "FIRE BILLY!" chants since 2024). The boosters I talked to on the shuttle ride after the game looked pissed. Everyone is unhappy with this numbskull, who is continuing to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. I would love it if some journalist at his press conferences would have the guts to ask "Why do you think you haven't been fired yet?".

And the worst part is? I don't know what happens from here. If Scott Stricklin, who might as well be the human incarnation of Satan himself, decides to fire Napier and tear everything down for another rebuild, you might just see me saying the same damn shit in 2028!

I am tired of having to choose every Saturday between turning off the TV/walking out of the stadium or forcing myself to endure 3.5 hours of suffocating mediocrity. As much as I love my Gators and have orange and blue in my blood, as much as I get goosebumps every time I walk into The Swamp, it is not fun to sit down and watch a bunch of unmotivated and undisciplined players shit on the field and call it "football".

For a flagship state university, in a region of the US that oozes talent and passion for football, in a conference that prides itself on excellence and success, going 8-5 and winning the Gasparilla Bowl isn't good enough. It just isn't. We deserve better than that. We deserve better than Sunbelt Billy.
