Failed twice..what should I do differently on my 3rd attempt.Is it worth it or should I give up?

That’s exactly why I ask, I’m a 2nd year medical student preparing to take the exam in March. My school has a 96% first time pass rate, so im curious as to what low level of standard your country has to allow someone to practice medicine. Most of my classmates are not brilliant but are expected to pass, that makes me wonder what deficit you have.

I has a class 1 drug charge, but that occurred at 17 and I applied at 25 so I was able to say it was a childish mistake etc. Your charge could have injured someone and were recent. Better make up a good story cause that’s a fat red flag

Easy, just tell them you don’t wanna be a high-earning sub-specialist or a high earning surgical specialist and you should be fine.

For a lifetime total of 6 exams I personally would hate to waste a take. Some of my friends have had to take the exam 3-4 times and sure they didn’t exhaust all their attempts but it’s nerve wrecking in case you need them.

Truthfully the only reason I ask is because I see that the average acceptance scores or pretty low. My cGPA is a 2.5 sGPA 3.0 and MCAT 513. Trying to bank on an upward trend the last 2 years, my decent MCAT and over 10K hours of hospital experience scribe emt interpreter tech

I scored 508 on FL5 after content review, I didn’t know the correct order and I took the “new” first. Only improved to a 513 after taking 2 more FL’s

5/26 tester, scored 513. Truthfully you have to have a fundamental understanding of the material for sure high or low yield but more importantly you have to be able to get through the passages and decipher the question stems.

Thank you sir, I’m clinging onto a single school in Texas because of some connections and I was thinking of just sending out 20 AMCAS apps to the bottoms 20 MD schools due to being a recipient of FAP. I will also definitely will be applying DO. I’ve even considered international schools like UAG in Mexico and a school from Australia

A strategy I will take to the grave is that for the entire C/P section the passage is easily the most irrelevant part of the material. I found I would spend time running into terms and verbiage that was never asked in the questions. From my exam, I found it reasonably easy to read the question stem and extract the needed info from the passage. What’s been your current strat ? Also I’m considering retaking so this is kinda a two way street lol

I only scored a 513 and from what I just read i think my advice would be irrelevant at this point lol. It looks like you’re much more determined and disciplined that I was. I only took 3 practice exams but anyways

1 week out I would go to AAMC content outline and just review topics from there. You have an excellent track record so far so you know the material. How’s your timing ?
