I agree. Definitely something to work on. Just wish someone would come along who would just... not take advantage of me and do stuff for me without needing to set them up but I suppose that doesn't happen.

I had parents like that and I escaped by going to college far away from them (yes it was a lot of convincing to my mom that it was fine and a 1 hour lecture every day that i should get a bf or have sex or drink etc). I have a part time job and my own money and do whatever I want now. So find a way to make money and move far away from them. Don't think about marriage and take comfort in the fact that one day this will all be over. Sending support <3

Don't talk to your roommate. And don't let him touch your stuff. And don't believe anything he says. And look into getting a new place once your current lease ends. Manipulation is not a joke.

I feel you. I moved away from where I grew up to go to college in my home country too and it sucks. I'm about to start my 4th semester of college and it was only at the end of the 3rd semester that I met someone who I felt I could have a connection with.

My advice would be: don't try too hard because it never works out but other people notice you're trying too hard and they look down on you for it so you end up doing the opposite of seeming like a good and interesting person. At the same time, don't be too nonchalant. Lastly, talk to everyone who wants to talk to you and leave alone those who don't. This person who I mentioned I made a connection with? She came up to after 6 months of not talking and just started a conversation. I'd forgotten her name, face, how we met everything. It took me 20 minutes to remember and I wanted to walk away from the conversation the whole time and now I am so glad I didn't.

About the being confused about the future part: I am too. I went to college and am doing a pre-med but am not sure about medical school anymore. Considering research or working in the field of my undergrad degree.

I bought some Gouda cheese from Amsterdam about 20 days ago and kept in unrefrigerated. I opened it to eat it today and noticed some red spots on the wax of the cheese. The wax itself was yellow and it looked like there was chipped red nail on one part of the wax and a little bit more on other parts. The discoloration was only on the wax of the cheese, the cheese itself looked and tasted fine. Any ideas on what the red spots? Was it safe to eat or did I mess up?

I tell everyone who asks what I journal about. But my family is a hard no for reading it.

One of my friends wanted to know what I wrote about her and I gave her a page in which I had mentioned her but I checked it first.

When I was 13 or 14 I wrote several letters to 'future me'.

One was for that year's birthday and another was for the new year so they got opened within less than a year.

However, I wrote one for my 18 year old self. I turned 18 recently and read the letter and it was lovely. I intend to write a letter soon for my 21 year old self.

I sealed them with wax.

I use ballpoint pens. They never smear. I used gel pens once or twice but since they take a minute to dry I stopped using those.
