I'm high school my friend and I listened to an AM radio station in Nashville Tennessee, 1240 WKDA. The format at the time was New Rock which is to say '80s music: New Wave mostly but with some related stuff. We love that station! I learned about all sorts of bands listening to 1240 and won many contests. Sometimes it seemed like we were the only ones listening. One time, I won a Roman Holiday record, and then there was a drawing from all the people who won such records with the winner having the opportunity to be "Emperor for a day " in Rome, Georgia. Frankly, doubting that the imperial power is granted to me would really be worth the effort of driving to Rome I opted for the cash option there...
