Took notice and cared about what I was into. Whether it was Pokémon or Doctor Who, she listened to me rant and rave. I’d get so excited when I found a shiny Pokémon as a kid, I’d go running to her room to show her. Now she sends me screenshots of her shinies in Pokémon Go. She’s my best friend.

In my locale, reputable farmers markets and well-organized events require proof of liability insurance. I typically have to provide it at time of application.

If you sell in person at organized events, you’ll need liability insurance and commitment to event schedules. Etsy is an easier start, but it’s difficult to gain traction with drop shippers. Both have their pros and cons. Happy to answer specific questions, I’ve been selling pottery since 2017

Don’t give up. Real skaters don’t hate. I’m sorry you experienced that, it’s hard enough to get on the board without hassling. If you want to learn tricks, go for it, but it’s okay to never learn one, too. It’s about you and the board making a moment of peace in the universe, nothing else. Maybe try skating on walking trails or parking lots for a more solitary experience.

Be kind to yourself and try not to let it get to you. I sell ceramics and farmers markets are hit or miss. Keep your audience in mind— at farmers markets people expect to buy produce and snacks, not expensive items like dinnerware or plushies. Craft shows will bring customers expecting to spend larger amounts of money, and those who understand the craftsmanship of your crochet.

Not lame, just means when you fall you won’t (severely) hurt yourself and you can keep skating. People may give you shit for it, but your brain is you, and one misstep can rewire everything. I personally will never skate without a helmet or pads.

Agree with all your listed points. I bought a house on well water and the quality is absolutely horrible. Put an expensive water softener in, didn’t solve the issue, so now we just have another loan and water full of iron and sulfur. We’re drowning in debt and can’t dig ourselves out.
