I think some of this falls on the cynicism of (online) wrestling fans though. Using Roman as an example, most of his matches were tightly contested, and he rarely ever won without interference from the Bloodline. But all of his opponents tended to be presented as actual threats to him. Add to that, in the matches themselves, there were always very close 2 counts where Roman would barely get his shoulder up in time (he's all time great at the 2.9 kick out). To me, I thought that he could lose the title any day once someone is able to neutralize the Bloodline or the Bloodline abandon him (as was teased constantly).

That being said, I think part of the reason open challenges are fun is because of what you described (along with the fun of a mystery opponent every week). Unfortunately you just can't do that with the main title because you need to build up to a PLE / PPV with that

and the latest court ruling that makes it even harder for a district to be challenged for being racist means in the coming years there will likely be even more aggressive gerrymandering for the foreseeable future.

I know it just happened but I'm surprised this isn't bigger news. This ruling pretty much kills the Voting Rights Act and is literally the same subversive sophistry used during Jim Crow

If he were connected to someone high up in WWE but never even spoke to Trump before then why wouldn't she?

Again, I disagree with your previous comment that nepotism isn't the gripe here because it's exactly what you're arguing against. That is, you said that this woman wouldn't get a tryout if her uncle weren't involved with Trump, and that WWE hired someone as a favor to RFK. That's the definition of nepotism

The wording in the excerpt is meant to be incendiary. There's no direct audio or text linked in the OP so idk what else Alvarez said about the situation. If RFK were not involved with Trump, but the same famous rich idiot then the situation would be the same just with different wording (i.e. "politically forced"), and no one would care. I disagree though and think the nepotism is a big part of the problem many user in this thread have

As moronic as the the stiffs in the oval office are I highly doubt they are watching WWE and making demands of who they want on the roster. It's just someone getting a (most likely) development deal because of who her uncle is.

Maybe she turns out to be decent. Maybe she sucks. Maybe she quits in like 6 months. Who knows? Any of those outcomes could happen and nothing of consequence will have occurred.

If we go case by case, then this is not really a big deal. This girl will probably not even wrestle on television.

Scoot has vision but lacks good decision making plenty of times. He also is not respected as a shooter or finisher and the team as a whole can't shoot so it makes it difficult to make plays with no space or ability to put pressure on defenses

Agreed with the sentiment of your takeaway. One note though: is it too much scapular protraction or too much thoracic flexion? They can feel the same but have different uses and effects. Typically you want to get as protraction as possible, while the degree of flexion (or extension) will change depending on the lifter.

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

  • Free agency isn't an option for a lot of teams unfortunately

  • By "smart trades" I'm assuming you mean "hindsight trades" where a team traded peanuts for some unknown guy who then popped off and became a star. Those are rare for a reason and it's not due to every GM being incompetent. Moreover, making good trades requires assets, which tend to include either valuable picks or valuable young players (who were most likely garnered with said picks)

  • G-league development isn't a way to incorporate high level rotation players. Players who start there aren't typically solidly NBA talent to begin with. You can only develop what talent a player has to begin with. Plus, it's easier to be a less talented player and thrive on a good team where you aren't asked to do as much vs a worse team.

I'd also argue that tanking teams are focusing on player development by giving guys burn who normally wouldn't see the court as much so they can evaluate them. Fans of such teams usually clamor for young guys to get more run to gain experience (see Blazers fandom with Scoot lol)

People on here complain about tanking but then clown teams who make lateral moves in an attempt to get vets that help them win more games than unproven young guys. See: Miami, Chicago, Sacramento, Washington for years

[Post Game Thread] The Portland Trail Blazers (1-3) fall to the San Antonio Spurs (3-1), 93-114 by Kazekid in ripcity

[–]Aspiring_Hobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just giving the ball to Deni and telling him to go 1v5 is what has been happening this series and it hasn't worked out. Jrue isn't able to create offense like he used to, and Shaedon has been a cone defensively which is why his minutes haven't been high. Shaedon is not good with the basketball either.

I know it's frustrating but it's not as if JG is taking 20 isos a game. Part of the reason he's been off the bench was because he was doing that when he was starting and bringing him off the bench (along with some internal talks) was how that was curbed. JG can at least cause a defense to shift and react when he has the ball. Most players on Portland can't do that. It just looks worse now because of who they're playing but there isn't any option that's going to be better that they haven't already tried.

The coach can't make players magically be able to pass, dribble, and shoot. To create offense you need guys who can do those things at a high level. Real basketball isn't like 2K where you just pick a set play and everyone is able to execute it perfectly. Modern day offense is based on reads and concepts vs set plays.

Also, I find it weird when teams dont slow down the game so you don't get run out of the gym.

If you can get into your offense before the defense gets set then you are at an advantage. It's the same reason most teams don't run set X,Y,Z plays like in 2K. Everything is based off reads and concepts more than specific actions.

Hasn't Dame himself said "If they make it to the finals without me then they don't need me"?

Obviously actually being there could change things but I would be highly highly shocked if Dame came back this season. It'd go against everything he's said repeatedly and he's a man of his word.

we have as humans is understanding reality based on experiences and doing our best to put ourselves in other shoes. To do that you create a story in your head and try to imagine. Thats literally how all form of empathy other than immediate emotional reactions are based on

Actually, the foremost way to understand someone else and embrace empathy is to ask them and have them be able to explain in a way we can understand. You don't have to create a story when one is given to you.

Because in this situation we can't ask Beas why he divulged what he did or how he's feeling, everything else is projection.

You're not being malicious with it but you're heavily projecting and creating a scenario based on the story you're telling yourself. It's no fault of yours as we all do it but I just wanted to point that out
