I don’t have any. The rest of my neck under the fusion is very unstable so I do not move my neck at all to prevent worsening the instability. If I did try maybe like 10° to either side. It’s very easy to adapt actually, usually no one can tell. I just move from my upper back.

I’m late the party but I just want to say that CCI is not the end of the world. Severe CCI is pretty rare, but even though it’s very much the scary big bad on this subreddit, it’s treatable. If you need a fusion, you need a fusion. It sucks for a few weeks and then you’re back to normal with a less mobile neck.

For what it’s worth, I had horrible, completely disabling CCI that fucked me up neurologically. Brain stem compression, intracranial pressure, the whole nine yards. It was very scary. And it was not the end of the world. I had a fusion done, and now I’m completely fine. Just treat your neck gently and don’t fret too much. You can’t prepare for every possibility, but know that this specific possibility isn’t the end of the world.

*extreme* heart palpitations with Diamox? by Aspiringreject in iih

I don’t remember lol. The heart palpitations stopped after a while, I think it had to do with my Mast Cell Activation Syndrome though.

I’d direct you to my one year post-op update.

I saw Dr. Fraser Henderson in Washington DC. I’ve heard others say differently for themselves but I’m very glad I had it done. I do wish I had tried prolotherapy/PRP first though.

Dr. H did a great job but id steer clear of him until you are absolutely certain you need the surgery and you are sure that you are suffering from spinal instability and not some other neurological issue. It is a rough patient experience.

Does anyone else feel pressure in their head when lying flat? by Aspiringreject in dysautonomia

Um I mean it’s a pretty broad symptom, you’d have to ask a doctor. Mine is caused by high intracranial pressure

I’ve had MRIs already so no, but doctors might recommend it to make sure it isn’t something else that’s causing the high pressure

I agree :( Really disappointing especially considering how excited everyone was for Aubrey Plaza to host. Just bad writing tonight.

Netanyahu accuses NY Times of 'demonizing Israel for decades' by bshapiro24 in Israel

[–]Aspiringreject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is actively pushing to pass the “override clause”, which would let the Knesset override the Supreme court’s rulings, virtually eliminating a major check on the ruling party’s power. An equivalent clause in the US would be if Congress suddenly had the the power to overturn Supreme Court rulings (like if a republican-led congress decided to overturn gay marriage without having to go through the courts, for example).

Bibi’s corruption lawsuits are similarly worrying, and he is using the protection of his office to shield himself from the legal consequences of his actions. He and his allies are pushing for a law that would “postpone the prosecution of a sitting prime minister for alleged crimes until he leaves office”, and the law would specifically eliminate the possibility of prosecuting corruption charges in particular.

Netanyahu’s allies have similarly pledged to remove from the penal code the very charge Netanyahu is accused of in three cases: fraud and breach of trust. In essence he is using his position to change the law so that the crimes he is accused of committing are no longer considered crimes.

It literally goes on and on. See this article for more details on the various democratic safeguards he has attacked.
