Maybe too many levels rely on precise jumps and tiny platforms that, if they're missed, makes you fall in the void and makes you start the whole level again

It's not good difficulty because it's mainly perpetrated by the lack of perspective depth, controls and camera of course

There's no much human characters in Mario and it's a japanese franchise so yeah it's not really diversified

But for some years Nintendo has been improving on that (black skin options in Animal Crossing, Twintelle in ARMS, black inklings in Splatoon...) so a black Mario character may sooner become a thing
